Description

The ESP LTD EC-407 is a purpose-built 7-string guitar designed for players who want extended range without sacrificing clarity or control. Its mahogany body with a maple cap provides a strong tonal foundation combining deep resonant lows with added brightness and definition. Finished in Black Satin with matching hardware it offers a stripped-back aggressive look that suits modern rock and metal styles perfectly. The 25.5″ scale length helps maintain tight string tension on the low B ensuring notes stay clear and defined even under heavy gain. A set-thru construction and three-piece maple neck provide stability and sustain while the Thin U profile and pau ferro fingerboard offer a fast comfortable playing surface across all 24 frets. Equipped with EMG 81-7 and EMG 707 active pickups the EC-407 delivers powerful output tight low end and precise attack making it ideal for high-gain performance and articulate rhythm work.

More info about this Product

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.
