Description

The Fender American Professional range brings the core USA-made HSS Stratocaster to the forefront of modern playing feel while staying true to the iconic sound and shape everyone knows and loves. Think of this refreshed American Professional range as the spiritual successor to the American Professional II, kitted out with a set of revoiced single-coil V-Mod III pickups with coil tapping potential, a new sleek 2-point tremolo, and a gloriously effortless neck resulting in outstanding comfort and crisp sound. This is the ultimate workhorse guitar made to be played day in, day out. V-Mod III pickups and expanded single-coil combinations Fender and pickup guru Tim Shaw have geared their latest V-Mod III pickups towards a vintage-inspired dynamic tone with the warmth and clarity that has made the Strat sound so recognisable and still so versatile. Each pickup has been voiced specifically for their neck, middle and bridge positions to provide outstanding customisation as you flick between the five pickup combinations, from bell-like chime to silky leads and onto punchy, thicker attack from the humbucker. The HSS Strat humbucker adds an exciting element to the mix with the bridge humbucker, but if you want to switch it up to a single-coil bridge snap you have that option by pressing the push/push tone control to coil tap – all without a reduction in volume to keep a natural consistency as you play live. Add in the ClassicGear Precision Potentiometers offering a satisfying custom torque and resistance for fluid volume and tone swells, and you’ve got a highly expressive and detailed sound ready for a modern mix. Sleek neck design with rolled fingerboard edges The American Professional series comes standard with a deep “C” neck profile, a modern slim size that gradually fills out the hand more as you head up the frets. On top are 22 narrow tall frets for a touch of vintage flavour as you pull of expressive bends and quickly jump between notes. The rolled fretboard edges and Super-Natural satin finish continue to be brilliant additions bringing a classy feel as if your Strat has been broken in just like the best vintage instruments. No chance you’ll be catching yourself on the arm or hand as you reach for the highest frets either, as the neck heel has been sculpted smooth on the lower corner with the neck plate bevelled – a nice touch to allow for truly free lead playing. Effortless vibrato and rock-solid tuning stability The American Pro Strat’s 2-point tremolo has been upgraded with an ultra-sturdy cold-rolled steel block, increasing note sustain and resonance throughout the guitar’s body. The ClassicGear Radial bent steel saddles also help with more accurate intonation and easier action adjustment for a top setup customised to your preferences. The recessed screws ensure they stay out of your way as your picking hand rests comfortably next to the bridge.Key FeaturesTwo V-Mod III single-coil pickups and a new V-Mod humbucking pickup – More articulate than ever with bell-like chime and warmth, plus the punch of the bridge position pickupSpecial Electronics – Push-push switch on the second tone control taps the V-Mod III humbucker intoto single-coil mode for crisp, clear tonesUpgraded 2-Point Tremolo with Cold-Rolled Steel Block and ClassicGear Radial Bent-Steel Saddles – Effortless intonation and action adjustments with recessed screws to stay out of the wayDeep “C”-shaped neck profile with rolled fingerboard edges – Supreme played-in comfortNewly sculpted neck heel – Uninterrupted access to the upper fretsBone nut and 22 narrow-tall frets – A touch of classic playing feel for easy bendingClassicGear Precision Potentiometers – Smooth, consistent volume and tone control with custom torque for personalised performanceIncludes Deluxe Moulded hardshell case – Luxurious protection on the goSpecificationsBodyBody Style: StratocasterBody Wood: Alder…

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Guitar

Explore electric, acoustic and bass guitars across a wide range of playing styles, body shapes and specifications. The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.

S Style Electric Guitars

S style electric guitars are known for their comfortable contours, versatile tones, and expressive playability. Typically featuring a double-cutaway body and a vibrato bridge, they offer easy access to higher frets and a naturally balanced feel whether standing or seated. Their pickup configurations often favour clarity and articulation, making them well suited to clean sounds, edge-of-breakup tones, and expressive lead playing, while still handling heavier styles with the right setup. S style guitars are valued for their responsiveness to touch and dynamics, making them a popular choice for players who want an instrument that feels fluid, familiar, and adaptable across a wide range of music.

HSS

HSS is a pickup configuration with a humbucker at the bridge and single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions. This setup combines the power and drive of a humbucker for lead and heavier tones with the clarity and sparkle of single coils for clean sounds, making it a versatile option for players who want a wide range of tones from one guitar.

Maple Fretboard

A maple fretboard provides the playing surface above the neck and is often finished or sealed as part of the neck construction. Compare radius, fret size, edge treatment, scale length and neck profile as well as the material, because these dimensions have the most direct effect on how the instrument feels.
