The Fender CD-140SCE combines comfortable playability, great tone, and built-in Fishman electronics into one affordable acoustic guitar, ideal for those looking to start their acoustic guitar playing journey. The CD-140SCE is similar to the CD-140SCE but features striking laminate ovangkol back and sides, a Graph Tech NuBone nut for improved sustain and clarity, and comes with a hard case to keep it protected.

Dreadnought Body

The dreadnought is arguably the most popular acoustic guitar shape in the world, and for good reason. Dreadnoughts are known for being one of the louder body shapes thanks to its big sound and excellent projection and this model has a cutaway which makes it easier to reach those upper frets. With a booming bass and lower-midrange response, you're sure to be heard with a dreadnought. This shape is responsive to both strumming and fingerpicking so it'll handle whatever style you throw at it. This model has laminate ovangkol back and sides and a solid spruce top for a balanced sound.

Easy-To-Play Neck

The CD-140SCE has Fender's 'Easy-to-Play' neck which features rolled fingerboard edges. Players of all skill levels will enjoy this neck profile but especially beginners and those unfamiliar with acoustic guitars as the neck feels immediately comfortable in the hand so you can spend more time focussing on your playing.

Built-In Electronics

For playing gigs or for easy recording, the CD-140SCE comes with built-in Fishman electronics. The preamp features an onboard tuner, as well as volume, bass, and treble controls for shaping your tone. With the built-in electronics in the CD-140SCE, you can take it straight out the box and jump right into performing live or recording.

Stuff About Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About Steel String Acoustic Guitars

Steel string acoustic guitars are known for their bright, clear tone and strong projection, making them a popular choice for strumming, fingerpicking, and songwriting. Using steel strings gives them more tension and volume than classical guitars, resulting in a sound that cuts through well whether played solo or alongside other instruments. They come in a range of body shapes and sizes, each influencing balance, resonance, and comfort. From delicate fingerstyle passages to powerful rhythm playing, steel string acoustics are versatile instruments that respond well to dynamics and playing style, both at home and on stage.

The Important stuff

Dreadnought — A dreadnought is a large-bodied acoustic guitar known for its powerful projection and strong low-end response. It delivers a full, bold sound with plenty of volume, making it well suited to strumming, flatpicking, and playing in band settings where clarity and punch are important.. Sunburst — Sunburst refers to a classic guitar finish that fades from a darker edge to a lighter centre, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood beneath. It’s one of the most recognisable and timeless looks in guitar design, adding depth, warmth, and vintage character to any instrument. Available in styles like two-tone, three-tone, and cherry sunburst, each variation brings its own personality and flair. Whether on an acoustic or electric guitar, a sunburst finish captures that perfect blend of tradition and style, making every instrument look as good as it sounds..
