Let us introduce you to the Fender Custom Shop ’54 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic in Aged Opaque White Blonde.

Andertons are pleased to offer this Fender Custom Shop ’54 Precision Bass. Expertly crafted in the Custom Shop, this P-Bass perfectly blends the tele-styled headstock and pickup design of the earliest examples with the elegantly crafted comfort contours found on ’55 models to formulate perhaps the ultimate, best of both worlds mid-‘50s Precision Bass.

Beautifully finished in Aged Opaque White Blonde over an Ash body with Maple neck, this Fender bass has a well-rounded, resonant tone with powerful lows and sweet highs. It’s perfectly complemented by its hardwired ’55 P-Bass pickup, which captures every nuance and provides the famed thump that P-Basses are known for. With its Soft V-neck profile and lightweight construction, you’ll never want to put this bass down!

Key Features

  • Journeyman Relic Nitro Finish – Expertly aged and relic’d to look like it has been your most prized possession for over 50 years. Lightly aged and checkered with some honest playwear, but generally in a condition that shows this guitar was meticulously looked after and cherished.
  • Quartersawn Maple – Straight-grained and around 50% more stable than a traditional plain-sawn neck.
  • Soft V – Favoured by many of the greats, the Soft V is the perfect neck for players who like to feel the neck but still want the comfort of a more rounded neck profile.

Hand-Wound P-Bass Pickup

This hand-wound Fender Custom Shop vintage-styled P-Bass pickup offers the unmistakable low-end thump, punchy mids and articulate highs that have made the P-Bass the world’s most iconic and easily recognised bass! Made using authentic Alnico magnets in partnership with fibre bobbins and enamel-coated wire, this versatile pickup provides the unrivalled versatile bass tone that works perfectly with all playing styles and genres.

Bass Guitars

Bass guitars form the backbone of a band’s sound, sitting between rhythm and harmony to give music depth, weight, and movement. Available in electric and acoustic forms, they focus on delivering strong, controlled low frequencies while remaining clear and responsive to playing dynamics. Factors like scale length, string type, and pickup design all influence tone and feel, allowing bass guitars to suit a wide range of styles and techniques. Whether laying down solid grooves or exploring more melodic lines, a good bass guitar anchors the music and brings everything together.
