Description

Fender’s Custom Shop hand build some of the best guitars the world over in the style of their classic iterations, incorporating the finest woods and era specific hardware and electronics. This Stratocaster in a gorgeous aged British Racing Green captures the spirit of ‘63 from the nitro finish to the AAA rosewood fingerboard without sacrificing the ease of a modern approach when it comes to its snappier, quicker feel and fuller, more aggressive sound. This is a brilliant example of classic style, brilliant ageing techniques and craftsmanship, all the while leaning into a contemporary playability and hot-rodded sound. Seymour Duncan El Diablo HSS pickups The Seymour Duncan El Diablo pickup in the bridge position represents a departure from strictly mid-20th century tone. This is overwound to produce a fiery attack, muscly presence and greater output than your generic humbucker. You could easily adapt this voicing to all ranges or rock, hard rock, blues and funk – anything that requires the extra kick of high gain. Combine it with the middle pickup to round out the sound or switch over to the individual El Diablo single-coils for a funky, quacky Strat sound. The neck position has the spice of a middle-EQ-heavy tone but remains articulate like a modded Strat. Strat Blender control The Strat Blender control significantly expands the normal Strat palette. You can select both the humbucker and the neck pickups simultaneously for more fullness and clarity, making for excellent, rich clean tones. Unique Custom Shop neck The neck shape is the first thing you’ll notice to feel substantial about this Strat. It’s a modern C profile developing into a D as you move further up the neck, meaning it begins to fill out the hand for support when executing leads. Add in the much flatter-than-standard 12-inch fretboard radius and medium jumbo frets and this becomes an excellent choice, particularly for lead players, big expressive bends without fretting out and setting a low action for quick note changes. There’s a great balance of vintage-influenced neck profile – not as thin as a modern Strat – and current fretboard geometry. Of course, the Custom Shop Strat incorporates outstanding woods and high quality fit and finish, with a fretboard made of a AAA rosewood and maple neck with a sleek lacquer treatment that feels lightly played in – just like the best Strats do even when you pick them up for the first time. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Guitar

Explore electric, acoustic and bass guitars across a wide range of playing styles, body shapes and specifications. The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.

S Style Electric Guitars

S style electric guitars are known for their comfortable contours, versatile tones, and expressive playability. Typically featuring a double-cutaway body and a vibrato bridge, they offer easy access to higher frets and a naturally balanced feel whether standing or seated. Their pickup configurations often favour clarity and articulation, making them well suited to clean sounds, edge-of-breakup tones, and expressive lead playing, while still handling heavier styles with the right setup. S style guitars are valued for their responsiveness to touch and dynamics, making them a popular choice for players who want an instrument that feels fluid, familiar, and adaptable across a wide range of music.
