Description

Andertons are pleased to offer this Floyd Rose-equipped Fender Custom Shop ’65 NOS HSS Stratocaster in Hot Rod Red. With its eye-catching matching headstock, this Strat is the ultimate nod to an era of big hair, tight trousers and guitar virtuosity.

Featuring a full-throttle EVH Frankenstein humbucking pickup in the bridge, this guitar encapsulates the power of early hard rock and metal and is the perfect complement to all things high gain. It’s Fat ’60s neck and middle pickups provide classic Strat tones, making for an overall versatile workhorse that excels in every scenario. The Modern C-D shape neck feels incredible up and down the fingerboard, and its eye-catching dark Ebony fingerboard with no fretboard markers perfectly completes the look of this HSS shredder.

Modern C-D Neck Profile

A compound neck profile that starts off as a modern C at the nut and transitions to a D shape towards the heel, creating Fender’s most ergonomic and all-around most comfortable neck design. It provides the player with the most easiest transition to the higher register of the fingerboard while remaining comfortable in the first position for big open extended chord voicings.

Compound Radius

The Compound, or sometimes called Conical fingerboard radius, ensures maximum comfort and playability, no matter what style you are playing or where on the neck you are. From around the 12th fret, the fingerboard radius flattens out to create a faster-feeling neck and to make bending and more technical playing feel effortless.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Electric Guitar

Floyd Rose

A Floyd Rose is a double-locking tremolo system designed to allow extreme pitch modulation while keeping the guitar in tune. By locking the strings at both the nut and the bridge, it prevents string slippage, making it possible to perform deep dive-bombs, pull-ups, and vibrato effects without the tuning instability associated with traditional tremolo systems.

Floyd Rose systems are most commonly found on rock and metal guitars, where aggressive tremolo use and precise tuning stability are essential. They offer a wide expressive range but require more setup and maintenance than fixed bridges, including string balancing and fine tuning at the bridge, making them best suited to players who actively use the tremolo rather than occasional vibrato.

HSS

HSS is a pickup configuration with a humbucker at the bridge and single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions. This setup combines the power and drive of a humbucker for lead and heavier tones with the clarity and sparkle of single coils for clean sounds, making it a versatile option for players who want a wide range of tones from one guitar.

Red

Stratocaster

The Fender Strat – Stratocaster is one of the most iconic electric guitars ever made, celebrated for its sleek design, versatility, and instantly recognisable tone. Introduced in 1954, its contoured double-cutaway body, three single-coil pickups, and tremolo bridge set a new standard for comfort and sound flexibility. The Strat’s bright, expressive voice has defined countless genres, from blues and surf rock to funk and modern pop. Played by legends like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and David Gilmour, the Stratocaster remains a symbol of creativity and innovation, offering players endless tonal possibilities and a timeless feel that continues to inspire generations.
