Description

This guitar, much like the man himself, needs little introduction. But we shall try nonetheless! Having inspired generations of players including Slash, Brian May and the Edge, Rory Gallagher’s instantly recognisable Stratocaster has been painstakingly recreated by Fender Custom Shop to pay a fitting homage to the man himself…

In 1997, Fender Custom Shop designers met Donal Gallagher, brother of Rory Gallagher, and received one of the most coveted guitars of all time – Gallagher’s heavily worn 1961 Stratocaster guitar. Fender initially built 40 replicas for European sale but was subsequently inundated with requests for more.

This Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster guitar is an exact replica of that revered instrument, down to the extremely worn Three-colour Sunburst Alder body, Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard. Even the tuners (five Sperzel and one mis-matched Gotoh) are true to Gallagher’s original, and the 12th-fret dot marker is white plastic rather than the original clay. It also features three custom-wound ’60s single-coil pickups, aged chrome hardware, 21 medium jumbo frets and a synthetic bone nut. A fitting homage to a truly missed master.
