Description
Let us introduce you to the Fender Player II Jazz Bass Guitar in Lavender Haze.
We’ve joined forces with our pals at Chicago Music Exchange to bring you four exclusive Fender Player II guitars with serious swagger. These exclusive models debut a colourway that could’ve been — but never was. Say hello to Lavender Haze: a smokey amethyst shade inspired by mid-century appliances, classic cars and the dreamy hues of Lake Michigan beaches and Chicago’s lilac gardens. Sling one over your shoulder and get ready to turn heads on any stage!
But these instruments aren’t all about the finish. Under the hood, you’ll find all-new Fender “Full Dip” pickups — named after the iconic way to order an Italian beef in the City of Big Shoulders. These pickups are the result of decades of listening to players, dissecting vintage gear and collaborating with Fender’s Custom Shop wizards. Here’s what makes them so special…
Fender “Full Dip” pickups
Starting with the Vintera II recipe, Fender added two tasty twists:
- Hybrid magnet design: These pickups utilise Alnico 5 magnets on the E and A strings for tight low-end punch, and Alnico 2 on the D and G strings for a warm, fat growl.
- +5% overwind: A little extra wire gives you more midrange and output — perfect for pushing your amp and pedals harder without squashing dynamics.
Concentric “Stack Knobs”
Just like the original Jazz Basses produced in the early ‘60s, this Player II model comes with dual concentric knobs — featuring separate volume/tone controls per pickup. Here’s a breakdown of how they work:
- Volume 1: Neck pickup (chrome top).
- Tone 1: Neck pickup (black bottom).
- Volume 2: Bridge pickup (chrome top).
- Tone 2: Bridge pickup (black bottom).
Key Features
- Lavender Haze colourway: Stand out from the crowd with a smokey amethyst finish that oozes retro cool.
- Slab Rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges: Enjoy a smooth, broken-in feel straight out of the box.
- Medium jumbo frets: These give you a more precise, controlled feel and keep your intonation in-check across the neck.
- “Full Dip” pickups: Get sweet highs and punchy mids that cut through any mix. Plus, enough output to drive your other gear harder without compressing dynamics.
- Concentric knobs: Make it an absolute doddle to adjust the volume and tone of each pickup.
