You might not think of acoustic guitars when you picture punk rock legend Tim Armstrong, but the Hellcat is actually based on Tim's vintage Fender acoustic that was his go-to for songwriting. The Hellcat 12 is the 12-string version which features an all-mahogany body, built-in Fishman electronics, and that classic bell-like 12-string sound.

All-Mahogany 12-String Body

Every guitarist should have a 12-string in their arsenal. 12-string guitars have 6 pairs of strings, with the lower 3 usually tuned in pairs of octaves and the upper 3 pairs are tuned to the same note as each other. The result is a natural chorus effect that sounds like two guitars playing at once. With a 12-string you get a rich, full sound, with an incredible bell-like ring that'll instantly reinvigorate your playing. This guitar has laminate mahogany back and sides and a solid mahogany top. Mahogany is a tonewood known for its warmth and midrange emphasis which helps balance the characteristically bright 12-string sound.

Built-In Fishman Electronics

This guitar is ready to plug-in-and-play right out of the box thanks to the built-in electronics. The Hellcat 12 features a built-in pickup and preamp from Fishman, an industry-leader in acoustic guitar amplification. Whether you're looking to perform live or lay down some recordings you can simply plug it in and you're ready to go. The onboard preamp feaures controls for shaping your tone and a built-in tuner to ensure you always sound your best

Stuff About Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About Steel String Acoustic Guitars

Steel string acoustic guitars are known for their bright, clear tone and strong projection, making them a popular choice for strumming, fingerpicking, and songwriting. Using steel strings gives them more tension and volume than classical guitars, resulting in a sound that cuts through well whether played solo or alongside other instruments. They come in a range of body shapes and sizes, each influencing balance, resonance, and comfort. From delicate fingerstyle passages to powerful rhythm playing, steel string acoustics are versatile instruments that respond well to dynamics and playing style, both at home and on stage.

The Important stuff

Natural — Natural guitars showcase the beauty of the wood itself, with finishes that highlight the grain, colour, and character of each piece. Favoured by players who appreciate simplicity and authenticity, natural finishes let the instrument’s craftsmanship and tonewoods speak for themselves. Whether it’s the warm glow of mahogany or the bright shimmer of maple, a natural guitar has a timeless, organic look that never goes out of style. These instruments often feel more connected to their acoustic roots, offering both visual elegance and a sense of purity that appeals to musicians across all genres..
