The Les Paul Special is a beloved design that has been rekindled for those players that love its simplistic design and fat P90 tones!

P90 Pickups

One of the standout things about the Les Paul Special is the dual attack of P90 pickups which lend themselves to high-octane blues as well as raunchy rock songs. These pickups sound gorgeous when you plug into a gritty tube amp or a lovely dirt pedal.

Made to be played

The Les Paul Special goes old school with the neck using a Vintage 50s profile that’s fairly thick and fills the hand nicely. The 24.75″ scale length is fairly standard for Les Paul type guitars and this means you’ll get that great playability out of this instrument. Whether that be for clean arpeggiated passages or ripping a shred solo.

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Stuff About Gibson

Gibson has long stood as a symbol of American craftsmanship and musical heritage, shaping the sound of rock, blues, and jazz for over a century. Founded in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1902, Gibson became legendary with instruments like the Les Paul, SG, and ES series, each known for their rich sustain, premium tonewoods, and iconic designs. The brand’s pioneering use of humbucker pickups and carved maple tops created the warm, powerful sound that defines countless classic recordings. Played by greats such as Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Angus Young, Gibson guitars continue to represent timeless quality, innovation, and a deep connection between player and instrument.
