The Les Paul Special is a beloved design that oozes retro charm. Armed with a set of dual P-90s, a beautiful gloss nitro finish and a chunky Vintage ‘50s neck profile, this old-school number is an absolute joy to play.

Body & Neck

The Les Paul Special gets the double Mahogany combo for both the body & neck, complete with a lush gloss nitro finish. A bound Rosewood fingerboard with acrylic dots offers smooth feel and tone in equal measure, warm with a confident attack that’s complemented by the snappy P-90 setup.

The ‘50s Vintage Mahogany neck balances the guitar out brilliantly, while providing a familiar grip that’s every bit as classic as you’d expect. The finish continues along the neck, while the headstock boasts the classic blackout look.

Electronics & Hardware

One of the standout things about the Les Paul Special is the dual attack of P-90 pickups, lending themselves to high-octane blues as well as raunchy rock songs. These pickups sound gorgeous when you plug into a gritty tube amp or a lovely dirt pedal.

Chrome hardware and black top hat control knobs offer little distraction from the Special’s retro looks, polished off with a subtle wraparound bridge and 5-fly pickguard in black. Delightful.

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

The Important stuff

Cherry. Les. Paul. Special. Vintage — Vintage describes gear that is inspired by, or originates from, an earlier era of guitar design and sound. Vintage-style pedals, guitars, and amplifiers focus on classic tones, simpler circuits, and traditional aesthetics, delivering warm, characterful sounds that are closely associated with early rock, blues, and classic recordings..
