Description

Harking back to the golden era of electric guitars and perhaps one of the rarest and most sought-after models, the Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s Double Trouble pays tribute to the elusive double white-bobbin PAF equipped ‘60s Burst.

Featuring a solid Mahogany body and neck adorned with a stunning AA figured Maple top, Rosewood fingerboard, Grover Rotomatic tuners and a ‘60s styled SlimTaper neck, the Les Paul Standard ‘60s offers a comfortable yet fast playing experience and tone that leaves you wanting more. Under the hood, a duo of powerful uncovered double white PAF-inspired Alnico V Burstbucker 61 humbuckers provide articulate and rich, classic electric guitar tones that suit a wide range of playing styles and genres.

Key Features

  • Extremely Limited – The Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s Double Trouble in Vintage Tabacco Burst is limited to only 500 worldwide, with its exposed white bobbin pickups and vintage finish this Les Paul won’t be here long!
  • White Bobbin – Rarer than hen’s teeth, double white bobbin PAF pickups are regarded by vintage Gibson enthusiasts as one of the most desirable unicorns out there. For the first time, Gibson has replicated this eye-catching aesthetic in a core-range model, capturing even more vibe and mojo from the golden era of electric guitar.
  • Vintage Finishes – Fully finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, the limited edition double trouble models feature an elegantly faded vintage finish to truly capture the look of these classic Les Pauls.

Body & Neck

The Gibson Les Paul Standard ’60s is constructed from the winning formula that makes a Les Paul, a Les Paul! The solid Mahogany back with AA Figured Maple top is the classic tonewood combo, for a reserved but undeniably beautiful aesthetic and a rich sound.

The ‘SlimTaper’ Mahogany neck is asymmetrical to fit the hand more comfortably — and it wouldn’t be a ’60s Les Paul without a Rosewood fretboard, which is perfect for warming up your tone.

Hardware & Electronics

The pickups are powerful 61R and 61T Burstbucker Alnico V humbuckers, voiced to resemble the definitive ’60s Les Paul tone. To ensure that they sound authentic, the electronics are hand-wired with Orange Drop Capacitors — renowned for providing that timeless sizzle. Think barking mid-range, weighty Mahogany resonance, and a top-end that adds a rustic sheen to any style.

The hardware has been carefully selected to complete the classic Les Paul picture. Grover Rotomatics with “kidney” buttons and gold “Top Hat” with silver reflector knobs are among the notable features, with Nickel plating perfectly contrasting the warm, wooden finish.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Burst

A burst finish refers to a guitar finish where the colour gradually fades from a darker outer edge to a lighter centre. This technique highlights the natural grain of the wood while giving the instrument depth and visual character, making each guitar look slightly different.

Common on both electric and acoustic guitars, burst finishes range from classic sunburst styles to modern colour variations. They are popular because they combine a traditional look with a visually striking appearance that complements the shape and craftsmanship of the guitar.

Les Paul

A Les Paul is a solid body electric guitar known for its thick, powerful tone, strong sustain, and classic single-cutaway shape. It is commonly associated with warm, rich sounds and is well suited to rock, blues, jazz, and heavier styles, thanks to its mahogany body, carved top, and typically humbucker-loaded pickups that deliver depth, punch, and smooth overdrive characteristics.
