Description

Blending tradition with innovation, the Ibanez AE170-NTR combines a heritage of acoustic excellence with advanced features for the modern musician. The flagship Ibanez AE Series is designed to inspire, delivering rich, dynamic tones and exceptional playability.

Key Features

  • Comfort Grip Maple neck – The Comfort Grip Maple Neck contour provides superior playability.
  • Thermo Aged Ovangkol fretboard – Thermo Aged™, a special drying process, makes the Ovangkol fretboard light and harder and provides increased stability.
  • Solid Sitka Spruce top – Solid Sitka Spruce top provides an enormous frequency range that offers wave after wave of shimmering highs along with tight mids and a full-bodied low end.
  • Flamed Maple back and sides – Flamed Maple back and sides create an attractive visual profile and offer bright and tight tones.
  • Ibanez T-bar Undersaddle pickup – The Ibanez T-bar Undersaddle pickup accurately translates that full sound to whatever amplification system you plug it into.
  • Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp w/Onboard tuner – The Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp provides the extra punch of on-board EQ along with a convenient and easy-to-read digital tuner and 2-band EQ, located on the instrument’s upper bout.
  • Thermo Aged Ovangkol Scalloped bridge – The lightweight, scalloped bridge enhances vibration transfer for improved resonance and offers greater flexibility when adjusting the action compared to a traditional bridge. Thermo Aged™, a specialized drying process, makes the bridge even lighter and harder for increased stability.
  • Ibanez Advantage bridge pins – These pins really are an advantage over old-fashioned pins. Advantage™ pins are easier to take out and easier to put in than standard pins. A special bulb-shaped end makes the pin easy to grip and also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far. Best of all, with Advantage™ the pin and string stay put.

A Comfortable Playing Experience

Featuring a Low Oval Okoume neck and an Advanced Access Cutaway, the AAM50LCE has been carefully designed to deliver an ergonomic playing experience. The Low Oval neck makes chord transitions smooth and effortless, while the cutaway allows easy access to the highest frets.

A.I.R.port

Through intensive research and development, we have designed the A.I.R.port with a unique internal structure that reflects sound waves and guides them to exit from a precisely positioned sound hole. As a result, players can monitor what they are playing more clearly, which enhances the overall playing experience.

X-M Bracing

After spending years of trial-and-error, Ibanez realized the out-of-the-box X-M Bracing to generate the ultimate sound standing out on the stage. The carefully designed scalloped X-bracing, the allocation of tone braces, and finger braces transmit the string vibration efficiently through the bridge to the body. The X-M Bracing creates the clear bottom and crispy treble sound with trimmed warm mid-range, yet provides a wide dynamic range and high response.

AE body shape

Designed for projection, balance, and comfort, the AE’s perfectly crafted contemporary body shape offers the best of all worlds.

Electro-Acoustic

Electro-acoustic guitars are acoustic instruments fitted with built-in pickups or microphones that allow them to be amplified or connected directly to a PA system or amplifier. They retain the natural acoustic tone and feel of a traditional acoustic guitar while adding the convenience of onboard electronics.

They are commonly used for live performance and recording, especially in situations where consistent volume and clarity are needed. Electro-acoustic guitars often include controls for volume and tone, and sometimes built-in tuners, making them a practical choice for gigging musicians who want an acoustic sound with modern flexibility.
