If ever there was a name you would immediately associate with Ibanez guitars, it's super shredder Joe Satriani. Joe has been an endorsee of Ibanez for over 30 years and his signature JS series guitars have remained largely unchanged in that time. Joe certainly knows what he likes and rightly so!

Features

The Ibanez JS140M features a Basswood body with Joe's sleek JS body shape, signature JS profile Maple neck and a 24 fret Maple fingerboard. Joe has typically favoured Rosewood fingerboards in the past and the Maple board on the JS140M provides a little more brightness and top end than some of his other models. This can really help cut through the mix in a band situation.

A pair of passive Infinity RD (Neck) and Quantum (Bridge) humbuckers provide an array of tones, both humbucker and single coil, thanks to the coil tap function. Essentially, what you get with the JS140M is an ergonomic shred machine that will cover just about any tone you might need! Add to that an Edge-Zero II Tremolo bridge and you'll be performing guitar acrobatics with maximum comfort and tuning stability.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Solid Body Electric Guitars

Solid body electric guitars are built from a solid piece or pieces of wood, giving them excellent sustain, stability, and resistance to feedback at higher volumes. This construction makes them well suited to amplified playing across a wide range of styles, from clean and articulate tones to heavy, high-gain sounds. Their design allows pickups and hardware to play a major role in shaping tone, while the solid body provides a consistent, reliable feel. Solid body electric guitars are valued for their durability, versatility, and ability to perform confidently on stage and in the studio.
