Not many electric guitars can outperform the cutting-edge design of an Ibanez RG. It's made specifically for modern players who seek lightning-fast playability, unparalleled versatility and stealthy aesthetics — all from a single instrument.

The new Ibanez RGT1221PB-DTF, from the Premium Series, boasts Prestige-esque electronics and hardware but at a more attainable price. Featuring the famously-thin 'Wizard III' neck profile, it also comes equipped with a pair of high-output DiMarzio humbuckers and rock-solid Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads.

Key Features

  • American Basswood Body with Poplar Burl Top — Basswood delivers a neutral tone, with the Poplar Burl top featuring an exotic wood grain that really stands out!
  • Wizard III Maple/Walnut Neck — The thin, flat and fast Wizard neck is strong and sturdy; offering unlimited playability. 7-piece layered neck design increases stability.
  • Neck-Through Construction — Yields massive sustain and enables smooth, unhindered access to the higher frets.
  • Ebony Fingerboard — Luxurious material produces tight lows and solid mid-range, with a strong attack in the high-end.
  • Jumbo Stainless Steel Frets — Resistant to corrosion for life-long performance. Wide and tall fret-wire provides a quick response and effortless articulation when playing chords or single notes.
  • Premium Fret Edge Treatment — Offers super-smooth, comfortable performance.
  • Luminescent Side Dots — Glow-in-the-dark markers let you always know where you're at, even on the darkest of stages!
  • DiMarzio Air Norton & The Tone Zone Pickups — High output humbuckers deliver a huge sound with a broad dynamic range.
  • dyna-MIX10 Switching System with Alter Switch — Lets you access ten sound variations and can easily switch between humbucker and single-coil modes with the mini switch. The 'Power Tap' function provides a realistic single-coil sound, despite the dual humbucker configuration.
  • Mono-Rail Bridge — Designed for both stability and sustain, this bridge also minimises cross-talk between strings for incredible note clarity.
  • Gotoh MG-T Locking Machine Heads — Ergonomic tuners cut down string-changing time.
  • Included Gig Bag — Designed specifically to fit and protect this instrument.

About Ibanez

We have new and used Ibanez gear available on our website for fast direct delivery direct to you from across sellers in all areas of the USA & UK.

The Hoshino Gakki company began in 1908 as the musical instrument sales division of the Hoshino Shoten, a bookstore chain. Hoshino Gakki decided in 1935 to make Spanish-style acoustic guitars, at first using the “Ibanez Salvador” brand name in honor of Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, and later simply “Ibanez”.

In the 1970s, the Nisshin Onpa company who owned the Maxon brand name, developed and began selling a series of effect pedals in Japan. Hoshino Gakki licensed these for sale using the name Ibanez outside Japan. These two companies eventually began doing less and less business together until Nisshin Onpa ceased manufacturing the TS-9 reissue for Hoshino Gakki in 2002.
