Description

The Jackson X Series Soloist SLX DX in Gloss Black is a sleek, high-performance shred machine built for players who demand speed, precision and aggressive tone without an eye-watering price tag. With its neck-through construction, compound radius fingerboard and Floyd Rose Special trem, this Soloist is purpose-built for fast riffs, wide bends and expressive divebombs, all wrapped up in a classic, stealthy gloss black finish.

Combining a lightweight poplar body with a graphite-reinforced maple neck and Duncan Designed humbuckers, the SLX DX delivers the tight, articulate sound modern metal and hard rock players rely on. Whether you are riffing in low tunings, firing off fluid legato runs or nailing squealing harmonics, this guitar stays stable, comfortable and ready to respond to every nuance in your playing.

Built for Speed and Comfort

The Soloist body shape, slim neck profile and deep cutaways make upper fret access effortless, so you can fly around all 24 jumbo frets without feeling held back. The 12 to 16 inch compound radius laurel fingerboard starts slightly more curved at the nut for comfortable chords, then gradually flattens out towards the body, giving you ultra-low action and clean bends higher up the neck with no choking.

Neck-Through Stability and Sustain

A neck-through-body maple neck with graphite reinforcement gives the SLX DX outstanding stability and sustain. The continuous piece of wood running from headstock to bridge helps every note ring out clearly, while the graphite rods help the neck resist movement from temperature and humidity changes. The tilt-back scarf joint headstock also adds strength where it is needed most.

High-Output Duncan Designed Pickups

Duncan Designed HB-103 humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions provide the high output and tight response required for modern metal tones. From saturated rhythm work to searing leads, these pickups deliver plenty of crunch and clarity, with a three-position blade switch plus single volume and tone controls to quickly dial in everything from thick, singing leads to cutting rhythm sounds.

Floyd Rose Special Tremolo System

The recessed Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo lets you dive, flutter and pull up with confidence, while keeping your tuning locked in. With the strings clamped at both the nut and the bridge, you can use the trem arm as aggressively as you like, knowing the guitar is designed to maintain tuning stability and sustain.

Key Features

  • Neck-Through Maple Neck with Graphite Reinforcement – The neck-through construction enhances sustain and note clarity, while graphite reinforcement helps the neck stay stable over time. This means more consistent tuning and feel, gig after gig and session after session.
  • 12 to 16 Inch Compound Radius Laurel Fingerboard – A rounder feel near the nut keeps chords and riffs comfortable, while the flatter radius higher up the neck allows for fast runs and big bends with a low, buzz-free action. It is a fingerboard that naturally adapts to both rhythm and lead playing.
  • Duncan Designed HB-103 Humbucking Pickups – Voiced for high-gain styles, these pickups deliver a powerful, focused sound that cuts through the mix. They retain enough definition for complex chords and fast picking, making them ideal for modern metal, hard rock and beyond.
  • Floyd Rose Special Double-Locking Tremolo – The recessed Floyd Rose Special bridge offers smooth, responsive tremolo action with reliable tuning stability. Locking at both the nut and bridge lets you perform extreme pitch shifts and vibrato effects without constantly having to retune.
