Description

The Monty’s ’59 Jazzmaster pickup set is a faithful reproduction of pickups found on a second production year model. The pickups successfully recapture what made the authentic Jazzmaster tone absolutely brilliant. This variant boasts a White finish.

Detailed Sound

The pickups blend well, resulting in a middle position that strikes a balance between the neck pickups warmth and the bridge pickups old school twang. An incredibly detailed sound is on offer here, with an open quality unmatched by other designs.

Magnet Recreation

Meticulously detailed recreations of the ’59 Jazzmaster magnet stagger have been implemented here – adding to the vintage feel.

Partially Potted

This keeps the centre of the coil free of wax build-up, with the benefit being both improved response and clarity.

Here’s what Monty’s Guitars say about the Originals

Our sonic recreations of real vintage pickups, the Originals series is the bread and butter of Monty’s pickup universe. Over the last 20 years, we’ve been fortunate enough to see, repair and play countless examples of basically every vintage pickup imaginable. While not every old pickup is particularly good (in fact, we’ve seen some absolute shockers in our time), the best of them are simply divine. We’ve worked out what it is that makes these tonal titans tick and distilled their essence into each and every one of our Originals series pickups. If you’re after pure vintage tone, these are the pickups for you.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Jazzmaster

The Fender Jazzmaster was designed in the late 1950s for jazz players but quickly found fame in surf, alternative, and indie rock. Its offset body offers great comfort when seated, while the unique floating tremolo and wide single-coil pickups create warm, chimey tones with plenty of character. The rhythm and lead circuit switching opens up a world of tonal options. Loved by players who like to stand out — from surf pioneers to shoegaze icons — the Jazzmaster is all about individuality and feel.
