Description

The Monty’s 62 Stratocaster set is a reimagining of early ’60s Strat sets and was produced to be as close to the originals as possible.  This particular model features a Parchment finish.

Partial Potting

These pickups are partially potted, which means the centre of the coil stays free of wax – resulting in more response and improved clarity.

Meticulous Magnet Manufacturing

Featuring faithful reproductions of the original ’62 magnet stagger, the pickups bring a truly vintage feel to the table.

Versatile Tones

Much brighter than their ’50s predecessors, this set features a high-end chime with a slightly scooped mid. A full body helps to deliver hefty strat tones. String separation and great clarity, plus increased responsiveness means these pickups are incredibly versatile.

Here’s what Monty’s Guitars say about the Originals

Our sonic recreations of real vintage pickups, the Originals series is the bread and butter of Monty’s pickup universe. Over the last 20 years, we’ve been fortunate enough to see, repair and play countless examples of basically every vintage pickup imaginable. While not every old pickup is particularly good (in fact, we’ve seen some absolute shockers in our time), the best of them are simply divine. We’ve worked out what it is that makes these tonal titans tick and distilled their essence into each and every one of our originals series pickups. If you’re after pure vintage tone, these are the pickups for you.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

S Style Electric Guitars

S style electric guitars are known for their comfortable contours, versatile tones, and expressive playability. Typically featuring a double-cutaway body and a vibrato bridge, they offer easy access to higher frets and a naturally balanced feel whether standing or seated. Their pickup configurations often favour clarity and articulation, making them well suited to clean sounds, edge-of-breakup tones, and expressive lead playing, while still handling heavier styles with the right setup. S style guitars are valued for their responsiveness to touch and dynamics, making them a popular choice for players who want an instrument that feels fluid, familiar, and adaptable across a wide range of music.
