About the manufacturer

Ernie Ball

Ernie Ball is best known for strings and player accessories, but the current GPAS selection also includes volume pedals and pedal-power equipment. Products such as the MVP and VP JR volume pedals sit alongside the Volt DC supply, pedalboard accessories and Slinky strings. Compare taper, gain or boost functions, output requirements, cable layout, string gauge and pack contents rather than treating every Ernie Ball listing as the same type of product.

Bass Guitars

Bass guitars form the backbone of a band’s sound, sitting between rhythm and harmony to give music depth, weight, and movement. Available in electric and acoustic forms, they focus on delivering strong, controlled low frequencies while remaining clear and responsive to playing dynamics. Factors like scale length, string type, and pickup design all influence tone and feel, allowing bass guitars to suit a wide range of styles and techniques. Whether laying down solid grooves or exploring more melodic lines, a good bass guitar anchors the music and brings everything together.

Guitar

Explore electric, acoustic and bass guitars across a wide range of playing styles, body shapes and specifications. The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.

Bass guitars are lower-pitched instruments designed to provide the rhythmic and harmonic foundation of a performance. Scale length, string count, pickup type, active or passive electronics and body construction influence feel, output and tonal range.

HH

HH describes a guitar pickup configuration with two humbuckers, one in the neck position and one at the bridge. This setup delivers a powerful, full-bodied sound with strong output, reduced noise, and plenty of sustain, making it well suited to rock, blues, metal, and heavier styles where warmth and punch are important.
