Description

Vertical cabs have gained popularity in recent years thanks to their capacity for excellent tone and projection without taking up as much space as their horizontal counterparts. Now Orange have stepped into the ring with their own take on the vertical design, with some neat features that make it stand out from the crowd – and we’re not just talking about the bright orange livery!

Tonal Richness

Orange know guitar cabs; their speaker cabinets have graced stages across the world for 50 years, so you can be sure that this latest addition to the range is going to count for something! Indeed, it doesn’t disappoint. Using Celestion Neo Creamback speakers and an open-back design, it retains the full-bodied warmth you’ve come to know from Orange amps despite its altered design!

Built For Both Style and Practicality

A birch plywood construction means that this cabinet not only takes up less floor space on stage – it’s also super lightweight! No more backbreaking trips to and from the car or wishing it had wheels on it! As with many Orange amps, it has protection on each corner, easy-access handles on either side, wooden skids to keep it steady, and that tough orange exterior. This amp is designed to be able to take whatever you throw at it!

Here’s What Orange Have To Say About the PPC212V

Amp Cabinets

A speaker cabinet is responsible for turning your amplifier’s power into the sound you actually hear, and it plays a huge role in the overall feel and character of your tone. Different cabinet sizes, speaker types, and configurations can affect everything from low-end punch to clarity and projection. Cabinets can be open-back or closed-back, single or multi-speaker, each offering a distinct response and spread in a room. Whether paired with a powerful amp head or a compact setup, the right speaker cabinet helps define how your guitar sits in a mix and how it feels to play.

Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

2×12

2×12 refers to a speaker configuration using two 12-inch speakers, commonly found in guitar amplifier cabinets. This setup delivers a bigger, fuller sound than a single speaker, with increased low-end response, projection, and overall volume.

A 2×12 cabinet offers a strong balance between power and portability, providing much of the depth and punch of larger cabinets without the size and weight of a 4×12. It is popular for live performance and studio use, especially with high-powered amp heads and driven tones.

Amp

An amp is an amplifier used to boost the signal from a guitar and shape its overall tone and volume. It plays a major role in how a guitar sounds, influencing everything from clean clarity to natural overdrive and distortion, and is a core part of any guitar setup for both practice and live performance.
