For Peavey & Josh Homme, just releasing the ‘Decade Too’ combo wasn’t enough – to get the full QOTSA cranked-mid phase feedback sound, they’ve also introduced this 1×8″ extension cab. Not only does that punchy cab add some welcome projection to the ‘Decade Too’s bonkers sound – it’s also designed to maximise the effect of the amp’s unique phase inversion. With a specially-voiced Celestion speaker and a rotatable frame, this unique cab is gunning for outside-the-box tones – and Homme wouldn’t want it any other way.

Key Features

  • Designed as the perfect accompaniment for the ‘Decade Too’ combo.
  • All-new 8″, 8 Ohm Celestion driver voiced like the old Rola speaker, circa 1980.
  • Heavy-gauge steel rack and screw handles allow for precise vertical rotation of the cabinet.
  • Homme’s ‘Decade Too’ amplifier nests squarely into the top of the rack for superior floor coupling without affecting the “floating” cabinet.
  • Opens up the ‘Decade Too’ amp for extreme feedback experimentation in conjunction with the PHASE switch.

Stuff About Amp Cabinets

A speaker cabinet is responsible for turning your amplifier’s power into the sound you actually hear, and it plays a huge role in the overall feel and character of your tone. Different cabinet sizes, speaker types, and configurations can affect everything from low-end punch to clarity and projection. Cabinets can be open-back or closed-back, single or multi-speaker, each offering a distinct response and spread in a room. Whether paired with a powerful amp head or a compact setup, the right speaker cabinet helps define how your guitar sits in a mix and how it feels to play.

Stuff About Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

The Important stuff

Cabinet — A cabinet is a speaker enclosure designed to be used with a guitar amplifier head, playing a crucial role in how your tone sounds and feels. The size of the cabinet, the number of speakers, and the type of speakers used all affect projection, low-end response, and overall character, shaping everything from tight, focused tones to wide, room-filling sound..
