Designed from the ground up by PRS Guitars in Stevensville, MD, the Wind Through the Trees is a dual analogue flanger with nearly endless tonal possibilities! Paul Reed Smith has made no secret of how much he loves flanger pedals, with the vintage Electra 605 Stereo Flanger being one of his personal favourites. With that in mind, it’s no surprise to see a flanger in PRS’ first line of boutique pedals!

The Wind Through the Trees can best be described as two flangers fighting one another, creating the sound of, you guessed it…wind blowing through the trees! With controls for Manual, Depth, Rate and Regeneration, the WTTT has a certain familiarity to it, with additional controls for Added Highs giving you powerful tone shaping possibilities and hours of fun!

“We believe the pedals we’ve created are highly usable, great-sounding pieces of professional gear. A real magic pedal makes the board. We’re trying to make pedals that make the board and stay on it.”Paul Reed Smith

Stuff About Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

The Important stuff

Analog — Analog effects use traditional electronic circuits rather than digital processing to shape the guitar signal. They are valued for their warm, natural sound, smooth response, and organic character, making them a popular choice for players who prefer classic tones and a more immediate playing feel.. Dual — Dual describes gear designed with two of the same or complementary features working together, such as dual channels, dual pickups, or dual effects. This allows greater flexibility and tonal range, letting players switch or blend between sounds for different styles, settings, or playing dynamics without changing their setup.. Flanger. Pedal — Pedals are the tools that let you shape, colour and transform your sound, from subtle tone enhancement to bold, creative effects. Whether you are adding grit, space, movement or control, a pedal becomes part of your playing rather than just an add-on. Exploring different pedals is about discovering what responds to your touch and helps your sound feel more like your own..
