“What doesn’t the Tensor do?” is the right question to ask here. This is your go-to hub for all things timey wimey. Looping, time stretching, compressing, pitch shifting, reverse, chorus, slicing, overdubs and even more. It really is everything a pedal maniac needs to thrive.

No doubt Panda’s most elaborate concoction yet, the Tensor is full of unique sounds and textures you will simply stumble upon as you explore what it has to offer. Its biggest strength is the loop function. Once you’ve laid down a little lick, it gives you the freedom to warp pitch, speed and length – all in realtime.

Now it’s time to go nuts by randomising glitches, stutters and freezes; even dubbing over the original loop in momentary or latching fashion. And of course, you can access any of these sounds as you’re playing, ignoring the loop switch altogether.

About Red Panda

The boffins at Red Panda are all about pushing the boundaries of what can be done with natural, organic sounds. Forget your classic Klons and mundane reverbs, here it’s all trailblazing new effects using digital technology. This opens up the door for what can be achieved using the likes of guitars, keys and drum machines.

Red Panda are a small company focused on design process lasting 12-24 months. They use automated manufacturing to improve the reliability of their creations. All electronics are fully assembled in the USA, while the enclosures are CNC milled and powder coated in Canada.

Time to experiment.

Here's what Red Panda say about the Tensor:

The Tensor gives you live reverse and tape stop effects, pitch shifting, time stretching and hold functions that you can combine in creative ways. Slow down, speed up and rewind in real time. Stretch or compress time with no pitch change.  Loop, overdub, and randomly slice phrases up to 4.8 seconds.

Intelligent randomization adapts to the knob settings. The results range from occasional CD skips, stutters, and rhythmic repeats to random slicing and erratic pitch shifts. Both foot switches have momentary and latching modes to inject pitch jumps, glitches, or instantly rewind what you just played.

The Tensor is in a pedalboard-friendly enclosure with all jacks on top. All controls are immediately accessible with well-spaced knobs for live tweaking, and USB MIDI for recording and sequencing.

Stuff About Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

The Important stuff

Pedal — Pedals are the tools that let you shape, colour and transform your sound, from subtle tone enhancement to bold, creative effects. Whether you are adding grit, space, movement or control, a pedal becomes part of your playing rather than just an add-on. Exploring different pedals is about discovering what responds to your touch and helps your sound feel more like your own.. Pitch. Shifter.
