Description

The ultimate bass for The Cure and Simon Gallup fans! The Schecter Simon Gallup Signature Ultra Spitfire bass is as idiosyncratic as the the man himself, featuring a distinctive offset body shape and a stylish lion/rose graphic.

Timeless Construction

The Schecter Simon Gallup signature model is formed from a classic combination of tonewoods. With a Mahogany body, you can expect deep and rich-sounding lows that guarantee an authoritative sound onstage. Paired with a Mahogany/Walnut multi-ply neck, this combination of woods ensures excellent stability and strength to keep your tuning rock-solid.

Playability is certainly one of the Ultra Spitfire's strengths too. Boasting a thin 'C' neck profile and an ultra-access heel joint, this bass offers a fast feel and easy upper-fret access respectively.

EMG Pickups

High-quality EMG pickups give the Ultra Spitfire its powerful and versatile sound. With a pair of passive TBHZ humbuckers, these punchy pickups are able to cover the broad palette of tones that Simon Gallup uses in The Cure's back catalogue.

Bass Guitars

Bass guitars form the backbone of a band’s sound, sitting between rhythm and harmony to give music depth, weight, and movement. Available in electric and acoustic forms, they focus on delivering strong, controlled low frequencies while remaining clear and responsive to playing dynamics. Factors like scale length, string type, and pickup design all influence tone and feel, allowing bass guitars to suit a wide range of styles and techniques. Whether laying down solid grooves or exploring more melodic lines, a good bass guitar anchors the music and brings everything together.

Explore electric, acoustic and bass guitars across a wide range of playing styles, body shapes and specifications. The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.
