In the late 1960s, American guitar manufacturers faced significant competition from affordable Japanese-made guitars that closely resembled American models, which threatened their market dominance. To counter this, American companies launched “Sigma Guitars” in 1970. These acoustic guitars were built by skilled workers in efficient Japanese factories and then inspected in the US before being sold. Sigma Guitars quickly earned a reputation for their exceptional quality in construction and sound, attracting a dedicated fan base and collectors. Today, second-hand models are rarely available as owners are reluctant to part with them.

Introducing the Sigma SG Series, renowned for its unique design and superior craftsmanship. Each guitar features a select solid spruce top, ensuring excellent sound quality and durability. The series includes extravagant pickguards and other fine attributes that showcase Sigma’s commitment to excellence. Every guitar in this series is equipped with pickup systems and strung with D’Addario strings, providing a perfect blend of acoustic and amplified sound.

The Sigma JM-SG45 is a standout model in the SG Series. It boasts a D-14 fret, slope shoulder body size, and a solid Sitka spruce top, which contribute to its rich, resonant tone. The mahogany back and sides, along with a low-profile mahogany neck, offer a comfortable playing experience. High-quality components like the bone nut and saddle, micarta fingerboard and bridge, and Grover nickel open-gear tuning machines with ivoroid knobs ensure reliability and precision.

Additional features of the Sigma JM-SG45 include a two-way truss rod for easy neck adjustments and Fishman Sonitone electronics for excellent amplified sound. The guitar comes with a polished gloss finish in sunburst and a softshell case (SSC-D) for protection. With D’Addario EXP16 strings, the Sigma JM-SG45 is ready to deliver exceptional performance right out of the case.

Electro-Acoustic Guitars

Electro-acoustic guitars combine the natural sound and feel of an acoustic guitar with built-in electronics for amplification. Fitted with pickups and preamp controls, they allow you to plug directly into an amp, PA system, or recording setup while retaining an acoustic character. They’re ideal for live performance, rehearsal, and home recording, offering volume control and tonal adjustment without relying solely on microphones. Electro-acoustic guitars suit players who want the warmth and responsiveness of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility to play amplified when needed.

Electro-Acoustic

Electro-acoustic guitars are acoustic instruments fitted with built-in pickups or microphones that allow them to be amplified or connected directly to a PA system or amplifier. They retain the natural acoustic tone and feel of a traditional acoustic guitar while adding the convenience of onboard electronics.

They are commonly used for live performance and recording, especially in situations where consistent volume and clarity are needed. Electro-acoustic guitars often include controls for volume and tone, and sometimes built-in tuners, making them a practical choice for gigging musicians who want an acoustic sound with modern flexibility.

Left-Handed

Left Handed guitars are specifically designed for players who favour their left hand as the fretting hand, offering a comfortable and natural playing experience without compromise. With reversed body shapes, control layouts, and string orientation, these guitars ensure proper balance, playability, and access to all features exactly as intended.

From classic electric designs to acoustic models, left handed guitars are available across a wide range of styles, tones, and price points. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to upgrade, choosing a purpose-built left handed instrument allows you to focus on playing and expression, rather than adapting to a setup that doesn’t suit you.
