Description

Capturing the essence of the classic JM design and sonic versatility, the Sire Larry Carlton J5 is a higher-tier version of the J3. It comes stacked with a pair of LC Vintage JM pickups, a Goldo/Sire Vintage JM-type bridge with DG tremolo as well as Sire Premium Locking Tuners. The guitar’s satisfyingly thick tones, sleek offset body and range of enticing colours make the Sire J5 hard to overlook.

Key features

  • Comfort and elegance – Sire’s Edgeless™ fretboard design features rolled, smoothened edges for a superior feel and playing experience.
  • JM tones – Two new Sire LC Vintage JM pickups provide a thick sound with an articulate attack and sweet top end. The perfect pickups for cutting through in any mix.
  • Premium components – Finished with chrome hardware and premium locking tuners, the J5 is a classy instrument to play… or just look at!

Vintage JM pickups

From groovy surf to jangly indie and alternative the famed sound of a JM-styled pickup can be found in nearly every genre of music. These pickups produce a thick sound that sits somewhere between the bell-like chime of a traditional single-coil but with the midrange thump and bass that is usually found in a humbucker. The result here is an instrument that lends itself to a myriad of different genres.

A premium finish from top to bottom

The Larry Carlton J5 is a stunning guitar to behold. The sleek body – made out of North American Alder – is joined by a four-bolt steel plate to the Hard Maple neck, which is topped with a beautiful Ebony or Maple fretboard. The chrome finish on the hardware really pops against all of the colourways and the white knobs and pickup covers provide an additional touch of class.

Comfortable and easy to play

Thanks to Sire’s Edgeless™ fingerboard design, the rolled, smoothened edges enable your hand to glide effortlessly up and down the fretboard with assured precision. The C-shaped neck profile with an easy playing 9.5” radius is also immensely comfortable to clasp and great for playing chords.

Quality components

Installed in the Larry Calron J5 electric guitars is a high-quality Goldo/Sire Vintage JM-type floating bridge with DG Tremolo, which is perfect for expressive and smooth vibrato. The premium locking tuners do a great job of keeping the guitar in tune, regardless of how adventurous you get with the whammy.
