Description

The Music Man Axis is a pure-bred rock guitar! Boasting a powerful dual-humbucking pickup configuration, snappy bolt-on construction, 2-point tremolo and fast-playing neck — this affordable 'Sterling by Music Man' version of the acclaimed Axis promises practically the same tonal versatility and comfort of its US-made cousin, at a fantastic price-point.

Lightweight Jabon Body

A lightweight Jabon body makes the Sterling by Music Man Axis a brilliant onstage workhorse — not putting any serious strain on your back or shoulders so that you can you perform at your best! Its balanced sonic qualities ensure that the punchy-sounding humbuckers deliver thick lows, rich mids and sizzling highs, while a flamed Maple veneer top gives the instrument a high-end look akin to the full-fat, American-crafted Axis.

Addictive Neck Shape

All Music Man guitars are renowned for having incredibly pleasant neck profiles. The Sterling Axis is no exception, and is certain to keep you playing for hours on end with its medium-thin, ergonomically-shaped hard Maple neck. A smooth finish enhances the neck's playability even further for an ultra-slippery feel, while 22 narrow frets provide an easy playing experience under the fingers.

Potent Proprietary Pickups

While Music Man's USA Axis comes equipped with a set of custom DiMarzio humbuckers, the California-based brand hasn't let its inexpensive, Far Eastern-made Axis suffer with sub-standard pickups. Fitted with a pair of Sterling-designed humbuckers, these harness the same sound characteristics of the standard Axis' pickups in great detail — rich in harmonic overtones and singing with sustain.

Flexible Electronics

To get the most out of the high-output pickups, Sterling has installed a 5-way selector switch that lets you attain various full-humbucking and split-coil sounds for a wide tonal palette. Master volume and tone controls give you plenty of further sound-sculpting options — making the Sterling by Music Man Axis an instrument adaptable for various musical styles!
