Description

Boasting superior craftsmanship, top-tier tonewoods and a bevy of design innovations, the Gold Label 814e introduces the world to a new kind of Taylor sound. This model features a new body shape we’ve called the Super Auditorium, a slightly larger version of our famous Grand Auditorium shape that yields impressive power with a heritage-inspired warmth and richness that will entice traditionalists and contemporary ears alike.

Key Features

  • Taylor Fanned V-Class Bracing – The bracing system on this guitar increases volume, sustain and responsiveness.
  • Torrefied Body Top – The spruce top has been “Torrefied”, adding an extra layer of richness to your tone.
  • LR Baggs Element VTC Electronics – The onboard pickup and preamp gives a superior warmth and natural balance of tone heightening the overall sound.

Super Auditorium Body Design

Back and sides of Hawaiian Koa are paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top, delivering exceptional low-end presence, a complex harmonic character with overtones that bloom as notes resonate, and – naturally – a mesmerising golden-hued grain. Inside, a new iteration of our V-Class bracing dials up longer sustain, greater volume and near-perfect pitch accuracy all the way up the neck. A new long-tenon neck joint improves overall resonance and sonic transfer, also providing super-precise adjustability whenever the need arises.

This Super Auditorium guitar sports a fresh suite of visual appointments with a new Continental inlay suite, a new pickguard design, grained ivoroid trim, antique chrome Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons, bone bridge pins, and a gloss-finished body. It ships with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics and a deluxe hardshell case with a British Cocoa exterior.

Torrefied Spruce Top

In typical Taylor style, they are yet again pushing boundaries of acoustic guitar design and have developed a signature recipe for a process called “torrefaction” to make spruce sound even richer and more sophisticated, adding a new dimension to this much-loved wood.

L.R. Baggs Element VTC Electronics

Multi-band compression has long been a secret of mastering rooms worldwide to unlock the warmth and natural dynamics of recorded instruments. The Element VTC’s all-discrete, Class A preamp leverages this studio elixir with a proprietary analog compressor that operates below 400Hz. The compressor is tuned to reflect the actual dynamics of the acoustic guitar, creating in live performance the superior warmth and natural balance of tone achieved in professional studio mastered sound. Includes soundhole mounted volume and treble tone controls.
