Description

Since its inception in 2010, the travel-size GS Mini has become one of our most beloved body styles, winning numerous awards and capturing the hearts of guitarists around the world. Inspired by the popularity of our 50th Anniversary GS Mini-e Rosewood SB LTD, we’re introducing the GS Mini-e Rosewood SB to our standard lineup.

Key Features

  • Taylor X-Bracing – The bracing system on this guitar increases volume, sustain and responsiveness.
  • Torrefied Body Top – The spruce top has been “Torrefied”, adding an extra layer of richness to your tone.
  • Taylor ES-B Electronics – The onboard pickup and preamp features a built-in tuner and 3-band equalizer.

With its comfortably scaled-down Grand Symphony body shape and hand-friendly 23-½- inch string scale length, the GS Mini offers surprising power that belies its compact form. A torrefied Sitka spruce top, featuring a custom sunburst, offers a balanced and articulate tone profile with a sweet, played-in sound. Layered Indian rosewood back and sides provide a beautiful visual complement to the sunburst top while enhancing the guitar’s depth and sonic character.

A thin matte finish allows for lively resonance and ensures a smooth playing experience whether you’re strumming or fingerpicking. The GS Mini-e Rosewood SB features a suite of understated appointments, including a 3-ring rosette, 4mm dot fretboard inlays in Italian acrylic, black bridge pins and chrome tuners, along with a firestripe pickguard.

Taylor X Bracing

The “X” pattern provides a continuous flow of strength from the upper bout to the lower bout, which provides rigidity despite the soundhole’s location in the middle of the soundboard. Taylor’s refined interpretations of this traditional bracing style have been adapted to produce pleasing volume, sustain and responsiveness, with signature clarity and balance across the tonal spectrum that has long been associated with Taylor guitars.

Torrefied Spruce Top

In typical Taylor style, they are yet again pushing boundaries of acoustic guitar design and have developed a signature recipe for a process called “torrefaction” to make spruce sound even richer and more sophisticated, adding a new dimension to this much-loved wood.

Taylor ES-B Acoustic Electronics

This version of Taylor’s ES-B electronics incorporates the Expression System 2 piezo design elements and features a multifunctional onboard preamp with a built-in digital chromatic tuner and active tone-shaping EQ control. The preamp/tuner unit features an LED display for tuning and low battery indication, along with a Volume control and 3-band EQ. The preamp/tuner is powered by a 9v battery.

Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Guitar

Explore electric, acoustic and bass guitars across a wide range of playing styles, body shapes and specifications. The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.

Acoustic Guitar

Acoustic guitars produce their main sound through the vibrating strings and body. This tag includes steel-string, classical and electro-acoustic instruments across several body sizes. Construction, scale length, neck dimensions and an optional pickup system are useful points of comparison.

Mini Guitar

Mini guitars use a reduced body, scale length or overall format for younger players, travel or compact practice. They are not all the same size, so compare scale length, nut width, tuning, construction and whether the instrument is a true short-scale design or a smaller interpretation of a full-size model.
