Description

The Have Blue is part of ThorpyFX's “Vintage Reimagined” series and is a germanium Boost pedal that plays nicely with your pedalboard. The Have Blue Boost sound is based on a highly modified Rangemaster boost circuit for a more versatile vintage style sound.

This boost can give a subtlety to notes or give you loud, thick, and full-bodied frequencies. This pedal can be used as a nice and thick lower gain overdrive which adds huge character to your driven sound. The internal transformer enables you to place this stompbox anywhere in your chain of pedals, and simulates the optimum pickup that is present to the front of the circuit.

Dial in the exact tone needed with the two control knobs – Boost & Range. Operates at 9V and has a standard DC input.

Key Features

  • Optimal Performance – Internally there is a small transformer to simulate the optimum pickup being present at the front end of the circuit. This has several benefits, most important of which it allows you to place your fuzz wherever you like in the chain of pedals.
  • Robust – Engineered to be robust but functional with recessed knobs, sloped front and top mounted jacks.

Boost Pedals

A boost raises signal level without deliberately creating a new effect waveform. Clean boosts emphasise level and headroom, while coloured boosts reshape bass, midrange or treble and may add mild clipping at higher settings. Placed before a gain stage, the extra level changes how that stage distorts; placed later, it can provide a volume lift if sufficient headroom remains.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Boost

Boost pedals give your signal that extra push — perfect for cutting through the mix or driving your amp into sweet natural overdrive. Whether you want a clean volume lift for solos or a touch of grit to wake up your tone, a good boost adds clarity, punch, and presence without changing your core sound. Simple, powerful, and essential on any board, a boost pedal can turn a good tone into a great one with just one stomp.
