Description

The Ashdown MF 484 2.N 30W Electric Guitar Amplifier Head is a Electric Guitar from the brand Ashdown that gives plenty, a solid weapon in any arsenal. The Ashdown MF 484 2.N is a compact all-tube amp head for gigging recording and home practice players. Running at 30 watts it uses a full valve signal path with ECC-series preamp valves and four EL84s in the power section. This gives you plenty of clean headroom alongside a switchable Boost for thicker more driven tones when you need them. The front panel keeps things simple with Bass Middle Treble and Presence controls making it easy to dial in anything from bright chiming cleans to saturated rock sounds through a traditional cabinet. Where it really stands out is the built-in Two notes Torpedo technology; giving you six virtual cabinets with Celestion speakers professionally micd and ready to go. You can run straight to a PA audio interface or DAW and even tweak mic selection and placement via USB for studio-friendly flexibility.

Amp Heads

An amp head contains the core tone and power of a guitar amplifier without the built-in speakers, allowing you to pair it with the cabinet of your choice. This setup offers greater flexibility over sound and volume, as different speaker cabinets can dramatically change the feel and character of the amp. Amp heads are available in valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, ranging from low-wattage studio models to high-powered touring rigs. They’re ideal for players who want a modular setup, precise control over their tone, and the ability to adapt their rig to different venues, cabinets, or recording situations.

Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

Electric Guitar

An electric guitar is the backbone of countless styles, from clean, chiming rhythms to high-gain lead work. Unlike acoustics, electric guitars rely on pickups and amplification, so details like pickup type, scale length, body shape, neck profile and bridge design all have a real impact on how the instrument feels and sounds in your hands. Whether you’re drawn to classic single-coil sparkle, thick humbucker punch, or more modern high-output designs, the right electric guitar should inspire you to play and respond naturally to your touch. It’s not just about genre or looks – it’s about finding an instrument that fits your playing style, your hands, and the music you want to make.
