Key Features

  • Selectable Mid-Range – Sculpt your tone even further with the switchable mid-range controls.
  • Ergonomic, Lightweight Body – Select Alder Body with Ultra Contours and Sculpted Neck Heel.
  • Ultra-Stable Tuning – The graphite-reinforced Maple neck with Posiflex support rods combined with the HiMass bridge and Fender tuners create the most solid tuning stability.
  • Rolled Fretboard Edges – Experience a more comfortable fretboard with the rolled edges.
  • Ultra Versatile Preamp – Choose exactly what tone you want with the Ultra II Active Bass Preamp With S-1 Switching.

Body & Neck

The lightweight Alder body makes for a more comfortable playing experience, as well as offering an extremely well-balanced tonal palette. Deep lows, throaty midrange and pronounced treble clarity like you wouldn’t believe – the typical Jazz bass flexibility taken to the next level.

A beautiful Maple fingerboard is then combined with a Maple neck. This adds additional warmth and attack, not to mention smooth playability thanks to the neck’s satin finish and rolled edges. The modern “D” fretboard radius makes the Ultra Jazz Bass neck an absolute breeze to play which is perfect for lengthy sessions and challenging live situations.

Electronics & Hardware

Fender’s Ultra II Noiseless range does exactly what it says on the tin. In this model, you’ll get a pair of Ultra Noiseless Vintage Jazz Bass pickups. Alnico 5 magnets and vintage-style voicing combine perfectly with the carefully calculated tonewood combination and construction. Add advanced switching to the mix, and you’ve got dynamic, punchy response that can be tweaked to suit any style with absolute precision.

The hardware appointments are the final piece of the puzzle. The combination of tapered-shaft vintage paddle tuners and trustworthy Graph Tech TUSQ nut maximises tuning stability, so you can play with peace of mind. The HiMass bridge drastically improves resonance and sustain, allowing the wood & pickups to truly sing. All in all, the Ultra II Jazz Bass is the ultimate refined take on Fender’s alternative bass guitar and takes the Ultra further than ever before.

Redesigned Preamp

The redesigned preamp features unprecedented control to unlock endless tonal possibilities. Precisely control your tone with the S-1 switching system for active/passive operation, passive tone control and 3-band active EQ with switchable midrange frequency.

Stuff About Bass Guitars

Bass guitars form the backbone of a band’s sound, sitting between rhythm and harmony to give music depth, weight, and movement. Available in electric and acoustic forms, they focus on delivering strong, controlled low frequencies while remaining clear and responsive to playing dynamics. Factors like scale length, string type, and pickup design all influence tone and feel, allowing bass guitars to suit a wide range of styles and techniques. Whether laying down solid grooves or exploring more melodic lines, a good bass guitar anchors the music and brings everything together.

Stuff About Electric Bass Guitars

Electric bass guitars provide the low-end foundation that supports rhythm, harmony, and groove within a band. Designed for clarity, punch, and control, they translate string vibration into a focused, amplified signal that locks in with drums and drives the music forward. Different scale lengths, pickup configurations, and electronics influence feel and tone, from deep, rounded lows to tight, articulate attack. Whether used for simple supportive lines or more expressive playing, electric bass guitars are essential for shaping the feel and energy of a track.
