Jimmy Eat World frontman Jim Adkins has relied on his signature Fender JA-90 Telecaster Thinline models for over a decade. With the core design and features remaining much the same in this time, different colour options have been made available – and the latest look is arguably the best so far!

Finished in a beautiful yet understated white finish, the Fender JA-90 model boasts a resonant and lightweight semi-hollow body fitted with punchy Seymour Duncan P-90 pickups.

Body & Neck

The Fender JA-90 Jim Adkins signature guitar is built around a gorgeous semi-hollow Ash body. Offering an airy sound with particular focus on the mid-range and highs, this body serves as the perfect host for the potent-sounding pickups.

Paired with a set Maple neck that enhances sustain, this material also adds some bright snappiness that gives notes plenty of immediacy and a fast response. Adorned with a smooth Laurel fingerboard, the Fender JA-90 also boasts a relatively short 24.75" scale length; making notes feel slightly easier to bend with the decreased string tension.

Seymour Duncan P-90 Pickups

Fender's Jim Adkins JA-90 Telecaster Thinline comes equipped with a set of genuine Seymour Duncan P-90 pickups, giving the instrument its powerful voice. With a SP90-3 Custom in the bridge position and a SP90-1N RWRP Vintage in the neck, this dynamic pairing is perfect for achieving the punky alt-rock tones that Adkins has pioneered through his highly-influential band.

Independent volume and tone controls for each pickup gives you ultimate control over your sound, with the 3-way pickup switch allowing you to isolate each P-90 or combine the two for a more balanced tonal character – great for cleans.

The Important stuff

Signature. Telecaster — The Telecaster is one of the most iconic electric guitars ever made, first introduced by Fender in the early 1950s. Known for its simple design, solid body, and distinctive twang, it became the go-to instrument for country, rock, blues, and punk players alike. Its two single-coil pickups deliver bright, cutting tones with great clarity, making it perfect for both rhythm and lead work. The Tele’s bolt-on neck, smooth playability, and rugged build have helped it remain a timeless classic — a true workhorse guitar that’s still inspiring musicians over 70 years after its debut.. White.
