Description

The Wanderer puts two of JHS Pedals’ most popular drive circuits in one box. Pairing the beloved Morning Glory and NOTAKLÖN, inspired by the legendary Bluesbreaker and Klon designs, it’s effectively a complete gain section for your pedalboard in one compact enclosure. Better still, it’s the first JHS dual pedal to feature a new vertical format with top-mounted jacks, so it’ll easily slot onto even crowded boards! More than just a 2-in-1 overdrive Most dual drive pedals lock their two circuits together. But the Wanderer takes a different approach. Alongside the standard input and output, each circuit has its own dedicated I/O jacks, allowing you to place other pedals between them, route them into separate switcher loops or use them as completely independent effects. Four gain stages on tap The Morning Glory and NOTAKLÖN sides both feature their own gain-boosting modes, giving you four distinct drive voices from a single pedal. Engage the Morning Glory’s higher-gain setting for extra punch, fullness and saturation. Or activate the NOTAKLÖN’s enhanced mode for increased gain and stronger mids. From edge-of-breakup tones through to rich lead sounds, there’s a huge amount of ground covered here. Built for players who need options Each side also features a dedicated Red Remote connection, letting you switch gain modes remotely via a footswitch or external switcher. That means instant access to four core gain sounds, plus countless stacked combinations. Add the ability to reorder the circuits and place effects between them, and you’ve got one of the most versatile overdrive pedals JHS has ever built.Key FeaturesControls Left side (NOTAKLÖN): Volume: Controls the output. Counterclockwise is less, clockwise is more. Gain: Determines the amount of overdrive. Fully counterclockwise is clean, allowing up to +16dB of clean boost in conjunction with the Volume control. Fully clockwise is maximum overdrive. As the control is turned up, the mid frequencies also increase. Treble: Influences the amount of treble boost or cut. Noon is neutral. +/- toggle: This “Shamrock Mod” increases the overall gain by +4 dB, boosts the midrange and engages an additional stage of hard clipping. Right side (Morning Glory V4): Volume: The output level control. Counterclockwise is less, clockwise is more. Drive: Affects the amount of drive or gain. As the Drive is increased, it also adds brightness. Counterclockwise is less, clockwise is more. Tone: Controls the amount of brightness. Clockwise is brighter, counterclockwise is darker. Gain toggle: Engages high-gain mode when flipped up. The LED will turn red to indicate high-gain mode is active. Bright Cut switch: Inset switch on the right side of the pedal that cuts the highest frequencies if the overall tone is too bright. Order toggle: The centre toggle allows you to select which effect comes first in the signal chain for different tones when stacking both sides. The toggle points toward whichever effect is first in the chain. The Order toggle has no effect when using the individual FX jacks. Jacks Main input/output: Use the far-right input and far-left output when using the Wanderer as a standard 2-in-1 pedal. Individual FX jacks: The individual input and output jacks allow you to separate the two effects for use with an effects loop switcher or other external routing. Red Remote gain (Morning Glory): 1/4″ jack on the upper left side of the pedal. Connect a Red Remote to remotely switch the Morning Glory Gain toggle. Red Remote +/- (NOTAKLÖN): 1/4″ jack on the lower left side of the pedal. Connect a Red Remote to remotely switch the +/- toggle. More info about this Product

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Overdrive Pedals

Overdrive uses soft or moderate clipping to add harmonics and compression while retaining more of the original note shape than heavy distortion. Some circuits emphasise the midrange and trim bass before clipping; others remain broad, transparent or amplifier-like. Gain, clipping arrangement, headroom and tone filtering decide whether it supplies a light edge, a saturated drive sound or extra push into another gain stage.

Overdrive pedals add warmth, grit, and natural compression to your tone, capturing the feel of a pushed tube amp. They respond dynamically to your playing, offering everything from a light bluesy crunch to full, saturated rock tones. Perfect for boosting solos or shaping your core sound, an overdrive pedal brings character and life to any setup. Whether you prefer vintage smoothness or modern bite, these pedals are essential for players who want expressive, touch-sensitive drive with plenty of personality.
