Description

Introducing the Laney DB-EAST Signature Bass Head, The New Standard in our DIGBETH Bass range.

This 1,000W powerhouse is designed in collaboration with legendary bassist Nathan East. Handcrafted in our Black Country Customs workshop in the UK, this amp combines our 60 years’ experience in amp design and production, with cutting-edge innovation to deliver unparalleled tone and flexibility for today’s professional bassist.

“Every night, I just feel good to know that after all these years, there’s an amp that reproduces the sound that I love so much – simple as that.” says Nathan East. Whose illustrious career spans work with Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Fourplay and so many more.

“it’s a game-changer for me.”

Key Features

  • Switchable & Blendable FET & TUBE Preamp Stages – Building on Laney’s DIGBETH legacy, the DB-EAST features a unique preamp section that allows players to mix TUBE warmth with FET clarity.
  • Dual Inputs & Dual Outputs – The DB-EAST offers unprecedented flexibility with two separate inputs and outputs.
  • LA·IR DI Output System – Equipped with Laney’s LA·IR technology, the DB-EAST comes pre-loaded with Nathan’s favourite cabinet impulse responses.

Dual Connectivity, Unparalleled Flexibility

The DB-EAST features dual inputs, allowing simultaneous connection of two instruments. Whether you’re switching between an acoustic and electric bass, a 4- string and 5-string, or active and passive basses, transitions are seamless. Input 2 includes a trim pot for precise level matching across different bass types, ensuring optimal sound quality regardless of your instrument.

Advanced Preamp Technology

Building on the renowned DIGBETH legacy, the preamp offers switchable and blend able FET and TUBE sound input stages. A powerful 3-band EQ with a parametric mid section and the innovative TILT function provides comprehensive tone shaping. The new master volume control delivers unprecedented precision in managing preamp characteristics while maintaining total volume control.

Revolutionary LA·IR DI Output System

Equipped with two LA·IR-enabled DI outputs, each input routes through a dedicated output. This groundbreaking feature allows Front of House engineers to EQ each instrument independently, eliminating compromise. The integrated LA·IR technology enables cabinet IR storage and independent parametric EQ, allowing real-time sound customisation for any venue or recording scenario.

Connectivity and Power

The DB-EAST offers a USB-C socket for direct DAW connection and silent recording. Dual Speakon outputs provide independent 500-watt power distribution across the stage. Featuring low-reflectivity dials for easy readability under stage lights, this amplifier comes pre-loaded with Nathan East’s favourite cabinet IRs: DBV410 on channel 1 and DBV212 on channel 2.

Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

Bass Amps

Bass amplifiers are designed to reproduce low frequencies with suitable headroom, control and speaker handling. The category includes compact practice models, stage-ready combos, amplifier heads and systems with recording or direct-output facilities. Compare power, speaker size, cabinet compatibility, EQ, compression, drive, effects loops and balanced outputs while considering the volume and low-end extension the playing situation requires.

Amp

An amp is an amplifier used to boost the signal from a guitar and shape its overall tone and volume. It plays a major role in how a guitar sounds, influencing everything from clean clarity to natural overdrive and distortion, and is a core part of any guitar setup for both practice and live performance.

Amp Head

Guitar amp heads contain the main tone-shaping and power section of an amplifier, designed to be paired with a separate speaker cabinet. They let you choose different cabinets to suit your sound and setup, offering flexibility for home, studio or live use. If you want control over volume, tone and character without being tied to a single combo format, amp heads give you a modular way to build the rig that works best for you.
