Description

If you’re after big-gig volume and modern flexibility without lugging around a valve amp, the Laney IRF120-212 has you covered. Delivering a huge 120 watts of all-analogue power, this offset 2×12″ combo is built to move some serious air on stage. Loaded with custom HH speakers, two completely independent channels and Laney’s innovative LA·IR tech for studio-quality direct outputs, the IRF120-212 combines classic amp feel with the connectivity today’s guitarists demand. Authentic analogue feel At the heart of the IRF120-212 is a fully analogue signal path designed to give you the responsiveness and touch sensitivity that make great amps feel alive under your fingers. Rather than relying on digital modelling or algos, Laney has recreated the behaviour of its renowned Ironheart valve circuitry entirely in analogue form. The result? An amp that reacts naturally to your picking dynamics and playing style, delivering the punch, immediacy and organic feel you’d usually associate with quality valve gear, but with all the reliability and convenience of a solid-state design. Two channels, six distinct voices Each channel offers three selectable modes, giving you six distinct tonal flavours to explore. Channel 1 includes Clean for maximum headroom and a pedal-friendly foundation, Asym for vintage-inspired breakup and Sym for a tighter, more focused drive that cuts through the mix. Channel 2 takes things in a different direction, with Bright adding sparkle and presence for leads, Flat delivering a balanced full-range response and Dark smoothing off the top end for warmer, rounder tones. Each channel has its own dedicated 3-band passive tone stack too. This means that Channel 1 and Channel 2 can be voiced totally independently (different EQ curves, gain characters, etc.) with zero interaction between them. Modern connectivity for today’s players The IRF120-212 isn’t just built for the stage. Thanks to Laney’s LA·IR (Laney Analogue Impulse Response) technology, it’s equally at home in the studio. Built directly into the XLR output, LA·IR allows you to load your own cabinet impulse responses or choose from Laney’s selection of expertly curated cabs. So, you can get a polished mic’d-cabinet sound straight from the amp, whether you’re recording into your DAW, sending a signal to the front of house desk at a venue or practising silently at home.Key Features 120 watts of all-analogue power: Delivers more than enough volume, punch and headroom you need for rehearsals, gigs and everything in between. Custom HH 12″ speakers: Voiced to get the best out of the Foundry circuit, with a responsive feel and plenty of oomph. Two fully independent channels: Switch between two distinct amp sounds, each with its own gain structure, selectable voicings and EQ controls. Change channels on the fly via the FS2-Mini footswitch (sold separately). Footswitchable Pre-Boost: Using the same footswitch, you can give your solos a lift whenever you like with added sustain, gain and output. Onboard reverb: Adds depth and ambience to your sound, whether you’re after spacious cleans or soaring lead tones. LA·IR equipped XLR direct output: Send consistent, studio-quality tones straight to a PA system or audio interface. You can even load your own impulse responses! It also enables app control and impulse response management. Series effects loop (send/return): Place your favourite modulation, delay and reverb pedals after the preamp for maximum clarity and control. Headphone output and Aux In: Handy for silent practice sessions, letting you jam along to backing tracks without disturbing anyone else. Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

Combo Amps

Combo amps combine an amplifier and speaker into a single, self-contained unit, making them a practical and popular choice for many players. They’re easy to transport, simple to set up, and available in a wide range of power ratings, from small practice amps to powerful stage-ready models. Combo amps come in valve, solid-state, hybrid, and digital designs, often with built-in effects and tone controls. Their all-in-one nature makes them ideal for home use, rehearsals, recording, and live performance where convenience and reliable tone matter.

120W

Products with the 120W tag have an amplifier or power stage whose stated output is 120 watts. Wattage alone does not determine perceived loudness, clean headroom or suitability for a room: speaker efficiency, impedance, cabinet design, amplifier type and how the power is measured also matter. Compare the complete specification and intended practice, recording or performance use.

2×12

2×12 refers to a speaker configuration using two 12-inch speakers, commonly found in guitar amplifier cabinets. This setup delivers a bigger, fuller sound than a single speaker, with increased low-end response, projection, and overall volume.

A 2×12 cabinet offers a strong balance between power and portability, providing much of the depth and punch of larger cabinets without the size and weight of a 4×12. It is popular for live performance and studio use, especially with high-powered amp heads and driven tones.

Amp

An amp is an amplifier used to boost the signal from a guitar and shape its overall tone and volume. It plays a major role in how a guitar sounds, influencing everything from clean clarity to natural overdrive and distortion, and is a core part of any guitar setup for both practice and live performance.

Combo Amp

A combo amplifier combines the amp head and speaker cabinet into one convenient, self-contained unit, making it a favourite for players who want great tone without extra setup. Compact and portable, combos come in all sizes and power levels, from small practice amps to stage-ready tube beasts. They deliver everything from sparkling cleans to rich overdrive, often with built-in effects and tone-shaping controls. Perfect for rehearsals, recording, or gigs, a good combo amp gives you the full sound and feel of a complete rig in one easy-to-carry package.
