Description

The Marshall 1974X is a handwired, modern reissue of Marshall’s legendary 1974 combo, produced between 1966 and 1968. True to the original, the 1974X has 18 watts of pure valve tone, two channels and a built-in tremolo, making it a vintage tone machine that is both portable and versatile.

Vintage Marshall Tone

At 18 watts, the 1974X would be considered a low wattage amp but this is where the magic happens! Typically with non-master volume amps, the only way to get them to break up into that crunchy sweet spot is to crank the volume right up which is not always doable, particularly if you’re playing at home. The 1974X is quicker to break up into overdrive than some of its higher powered bigger brothers due to its lower wattage which means the legendary holy grail Marshall tone is attainable at a volume that won’t damage your hearing or have you evicted!

In addition to the sonically pleasing crunch tones on tap, the Marshall 1974X does a great clean sound too. With a built in, footswitchable tremolo and an ‘worn in’ 12″ Celestion G12M-20 Greenback speaker, the 1974x delivers the sound that defined a generation.
