Description
The Marshall DSL402 is a 40-watt, all-valve 2×12″ combo that delivers the classic DSL sound in a bigger, room-filling format. With two fully-footswitchable channels, power reduction, a studio-quality digital reverb and flexible EQ, it’s built to cover everything from sparkling cleans to saturated high-gain in rehearsal rooms, studios and on stage.
All-valve Marshall tone
Powered by a quartet of ECC83 preamp valves and a pair of EL34 power valves, the DSL402 gives you that unmistakable Marshall roar with the feel and response only valves can provide. The twin 12 inch speakers move plenty of air, giving your riffs weight and authority, while the clever power scaling lets you get cranked valve tone at more manageable volumes when needed.
Versatile two-channel design
The split Classic Gain and Ultra Gain channels give you two distinct voices in one amp. Classic Gain covers everything from clean and edge of breakup to vintage crunch, while Ultra Gain takes you into saturated, singing lead territory. Both channels are footswitchable, making it simple to move between rhythm and lead sounds mid song.
From home practice to full band gigs, the DSL402 is designed to adapt to your environment without sacrificing tone. The responsive EQ section with presence and resonance controls lets you fine tune the amp to different guitars and rooms, while the built in digital reverb adds space and depth without washing out your core sound.
Power reduction for any venue
The 40-watt output can be reduced to 20 watts, letting you push the power section harder at lower overall volumes. This makes the DSL402 flexible enough for smaller rehearsal spaces and studio work, while still having the headroom and authority required for louder stages when run at full power.
Built-in reverb & flexible connectivity
Studio-quality digital reverb is onboard, so you can add anything from a subtle ambience to a more expansive sound without extra pedals. A series effects loop with send and return lets you integrate your favourite modulation and delay effects, while multiple speaker outputs and an emulated line out provide options for external cabs and direct recording or PA feeds.
Key Features
- 40-watt, all-valve power with reduction to 20W: The 40-watt output, driven by EL34 valves, delivers ample volume and headroom for live use. While the power reduction switch to 20 watts lets you achieve power valve saturation at more manageable levels, ideal for rehearsals and recording.
- Two footswitchable channels: Classic Gain and Ultra Gain channels provide everything from clean and classic crunch to modern high-gain. Being footswitchable means you can switch tones instantly on stage, effectively giving you multiple amps in one compact combo.
- Comprehensive EQ: The shared EQ section with treble, middle, bass, tone shift, presence and resonance controls allows you to sculpt your sound precisely. You can tighten the low-end, add bite to the top and carve the mids to suit different guitars and styles.
- Two 12″ speakers & flexible I/O: Twin 12-inch speakers provide a fuller, more powerful sound with increased spread compared to smaller combos. Multiple speaker outputs and an emulated line out make it easy to connect to external cabs, recording interfaces or PA systems, while the series effects loop integrates seamlessly with your pedalboard.
