One Control brings players easy MIDI Loop functionality with the new Minimal Series MIDI Dual Stereo Loop pedal (MDSL). This is a stereo effects loop that is powerful for small pedalboard or large effects systems. Switch your loop easily with MIDI with either stereo or mono loops, and you can covert mono signals to stereo (dual mono operation) and send them to stereo effects. And instead of relying on a footswitch you can control the MDSL easily with MIDI from a wide variety of devices.

The OC MDSL can use between 1-8 MIDI channels to receive control signals, and the On/Off of the two effects loops via MIDI PC# or CC#. Use either PC or CC mode to control your loops easily. The simple ON/OFF operation with MIDI switching, you can use the MDSL as an additional effects loop with larger switching systems like the One Control Caiman Tail Loop

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Control

Dual

Dual describes gear designed with two of the same or complementary features working together, such as dual channels, dual pickups, or dual effects. This allows greater flexibility and tonal range, letting players switch or blend between sounds for different styles, settings, or playing dynamics without changing their setup.

loop

A loop is an effect that records a section of your playing and plays it back continuously in real time. Loop pedals allow players to layer multiple parts, build rhythms, practice ideas, or create full arrangements live by stacking guitar parts over each other.

MIDI

MIDI is a digital communication standard that allows electronic instruments, controllers, and audio equipment to send and receive performance data rather than audio signals. This data includes information such as note on and off messages, pitch, velocity, control changes, and timing, enabling different devices to work together in sync.

In music gear, MIDI is used to control synthesizers, drum machines, effects units, and software from keyboards, pedals, or computers. It allows complex setups to be automated and coordinated, making it essential for studio production, live performance, and modern electronic and hybrid music rigs.

Minimal

Stereo

Stereo refers to an audio setup that uses two separate channels, left and right, to create a sense of width, space, and direction in sound. By sending slightly different signals to each channel, stereo allows effects and instruments to feel more immersive and three-dimensional compared to a single mono signal.

In guitar and audio equipment, stereo is commonly used with delays, reverbs, modulation effects, and multi-amp rigs to enhance depth and movement. Stereo setups can make a sound feel wider and more spacious, especially in recording or live environments where separation between speakers can be clearly heard.
