The Ibanez JEM has been around for nearly 30 years now and it still has the same basic design as when it was first introduced. The new JEMJR takes this design and brings it to an all new price point so no matter your budget you can get your hands on a piece of guitar history.

Iconic JEM Design

The JEM has been a staple of Ibanez's lineup for a long time so when they say that they are releasing a new great valued model I get a little excited. You will be happy to know that nothing has been left off of this guitar. Everything from the hand grip to the cutaway behind the tremolo are still here so it not only sound the part but looks it as well.

The body has been made out of mahogany and the Wizard III neck is made out of maple and topped with a Jatoba fretboard. These woods produce a sound that sounds great no matter if you are digging into your guitar for chunky rhythm sounds or soloing like a mad man. When playing rock or metal you will never be out of place with this guitar.

Ibanez Hardware

The hardware on this guitar may not have any kind of flashy name but it is all quality stuff. The double locking trem and nut combination mean that you are always in tune even when going for some insane licks you will still be in tune. You can also pull off some pretty awesome tricks with the tremolo that will add a new dimension to your lead playing. The Quantum pickups are designed to work specifically with this type of guitar where you don't have a huge heavy body or neck to rely on. They keep your sound hot and heavy while not letting you fall behind in the mix of your band.
