Built to keep up with one of the most technically minded and expressive metal guitar players, the Schecter John Browne TAO AZ electric guitar in a stunning Azure Blue finish has been designed to give you a performance-driven signature instrument. Featuring a Swamp Ash body, a multi-piece Wenge/Padauk neck with two carbon fibre reinforcement rods, Hipshot Grip-Lock tuners, Graph Tech nut, and Schecter USA Chaos Breaker humbucker in the bridge and Schecter USA Colossus humbucker in the neck.

Performance Focussed

From the ultra-thin “U” neck shape profile to 24 X-jumbo stainless steel frets, the TAO AZ has been designed for fast and expressive fretwork. The large frets allow you to be controlled with vibrato, using stainless steel for a premium, harder-wearing, and corrosion-free feeling. The ultra-thin “U” neck shape gives you a flatter and accessible feeling up and down the neck, meeting the contoured body with a 4-bolt construction for a snappy feel.

Schecter USA Chaos Breaker and Colossus Humbuckers

These hot-wound, high-gain distortion voiced humbucker pickups are the perfect pairing for heavy metal tones that will blow you away. The Chaos Breaker in the bridge offers crystal clear aggression that is perfect for crunchy and explosive soloing, allowing you to achieve John Browne’s incredible tone. The Colossus humbucker in the neck produces a beefy wall of sound that is ideal for fat chord progressions or fuzzy riffs with articulate undertones.

Key Features

  • Ebony Fretboard — Dark and silky material with an exquisite grain; adding brightness to the tonal mix.
  • Schecter USA Chaos Breaker & Colossus Humbuckers — Searing-hot pickups optimised for high-gain distortion, yet crystal-clear and vibrant with clean settings.
  • 3-Position Pickup Lever Switch — Yields 3 sounds: bridge humbucker, neck humbucker and a blend of the two.
  • Push/Pull Volume Knob — Splits the humbuckers so that you can attain jangly single-coil tones too, providing 3 extra sounds for 6 in total!
  • Hipshot String – Through-Body Hardtail Bridge — Enhances sustain, with individual saddles allowing for precise action and intonation settings.
  • Hipshot Grip-Lock Tuners — The ingenious locking mechanism makes restringing easier and means less string winds around the tuning posts, resulting in better tuning stability.
  • Graph Tech XL Black TUSQ Nut — Low-friction material minimises unwanted tuning slips.

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About Solid Body Electric Guitars

Solid body electric guitars are built from a solid piece or pieces of wood, giving them excellent sustain, stability, and resistance to feedback at higher volumes. This construction makes them well suited to amplified playing across a wide range of styles, from clean and articulate tones to heavy, high-gain sounds. Their design allows pickups and hardware to play a major role in shaping tone, while the solid body provides a consistent, reliable feel. Solid body electric guitars are valued for their durability, versatility, and ability to perform confidently on stage and in the studio.
