Made in Japan

Yamaha has drawn upon over six decades of guitar-making and engineering experience. The Pacifica Professional is the result of a rigorous R&D process, and the perfect blend of influence from their ‘90s LA Custom Shop and their HQ in Hamamatsu, Japan. The result is a precision instrument built to meet the needs of modern guitarists, designed and constructed in Japan – with a Certificate of Authenticity to prove it!

Pickups developed with Rupert Neve Designs

Yamaha has collaborated with audio industry leader Rupert Neve Designs to co-develop brand-new Reflectone pickups for the Pacifica Professional and Pacifica Standard Plus guitars. The Neve name has been present in the world’s highest-end recording studios since Rupert began manufacturing mixing consoles in the 1960s, setting the standard for modern audio professional equipment. For these pickups, clarity and balance was the priority; this involved tweaking details such as pole piece material, coil winding method, magnetization method, bobbin shape, and more. Pacifica Professional and Standard Plus feature HSS Reflectone pickup configurations with 5-way selector switches and coil-split functionality for the bridge humbucker. This versatile layout combined with Reflectone’s wide frequency response range means that you can truly craft your own unique sounds.

More info about this Product

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Black

Black instruments and gear offer a timeless, understated look that fits almost any style of music or setup. Whether it’s a guitar, pedal or accessory, a black finish is often chosen for its clean appearance, practicality and stage-ready feel. If you prefer gear that looks focused, professional and never goes out of fashion, black options deliver a classic aesthetic with no distractions.

Maple

Maple is a dense, hard tonewood commonly used in guitar and bass construction for necks, fingerboards, and sometimes bodies or tops. It is known for its strength, stability, and smooth playing feel, making it a popular choice for instruments that need durability and consistent performance.

Tonally, maple contributes a bright, clear sound with strong attack and good note definition. It emphasises high-end clarity and tight low end, which helps notes cut through a mix, and is often paired with warmer woods to create a balanced overall tone.

Pacifica

Originally launched in the 1990s, these guitars were designed for players who want performance without the price tag.
