Deriving from incredibly influential 90's alternative rock band Failure and continuing to grace the music scene with other contributions with A Perfect Circle, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Puscifer, and many others, it is with no doubt that Van Leeuwen’s playing style and knowledge of music have provided much influence and inspiration to the ever developing but always loyal genre of rock music.

Looking as undeniable as it sounds, the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster will stop hearts with its lusciously rich, yet slightly smoldering gloss Oxblood finish paired with a four-ply red tortoiseshell pickguard and contrasting white “witch hat” control knobs this guitar wants to turn heads.

Using a two-way toggle switch on the upper horn rather than the customary slider switch, the dual tone circuits (lead, rhythm) and the brass-saddle Mustang bridge is strategically combined with a Jazzmaster tailpiece. The Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster also features a maple neck with a “C”-shaped profile, providing comfortable playability, and a 7.25”- radius bound rosewood fingerboard with 21 vintage-style frets with pearloid block inlays. A heel-end truss rod adjustment two American Vintage ’65 Jazzmaster single-coil pickups with three-way toggle switching and vintage-style tuners all team up together to finish off a beautiful, yet takes-no-doo doo guitar! To top it off, Fender throws in a hard-shell case so you can tuck this away safely (if you ever put it down)!

  • Maple neck with “C”-shaped profile

Here's what Fender says about the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster:

Well back into the 1990s and right up to this day, Troy Van Leeuwen has contributed deftly textural guitar work and atmospherics to some of alt-heavy rock’s most acclaimed and forward-thinking bands. From the influential ’90s alternative of Failure to A Perfect Circle, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Puscifer, and others, Van Leeuwen’s multi-instrumental expertise has given great colour and power to a great deal of very creative rock music.
The Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster is as distinctive as the sounds he wrings from it. Its gloss Oxblood finish with a four-ply red tortoiseshell pickguard is darkly alluring, with the interestingly contrasting touch of two white “witch hat” control knobs.

The dual-tone circuits (lead, rhythm) use a two-way toggle switch on the upper horn rather than the customary slider switch, and the brass-saddle Mustang® bridge is combined with a Jazzmaster tailpiece. Other features include a maple neck with “C”-shaped profile and heel-end truss rod adjustment, 7.25”- radius bound rosewood fingerboard with 21 vintage-style frets and pearloid block inlays, two American Vintage ’65 Jazzmaster single-coil pickups with three-way toggle switching, and vintage-style tuners. Hard-shell case included.

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Its offset body offers great comfort when seated, while the unique floating tremolo and wide single-coil pickups create warm, chimey tones with plenty of character. The rhythm and lead circuit switching opens up a world of tonal options. Loved by players who like to stand out — from surf pioneers to shoegaze icons — the Jazzmaster is all about individuality and feel.. Rosewood.
