The Hansen Guitars S-Style is a hand-crafted instrument, inspired by arguably the world’s most famous guitar design. Taking the spirit of that iconic shape and retaining its signature components, the Hansen S-Style goes the extra mile with its premium woods and high-end hardware appointments, to ensure the best tones and playability possible.

Construction

The S-Style’s body is formed from lightweight African Mahogany, a tonewood that Hansen uses exclusively across its entire range. Offering a gloriously deep and rich sound as you’d expect from Mahogany, this lighter species also gives you a more open and resonant tonality, with a brighter top-end and a punchier mid-range.

Paired with a bolt-on European Maple neck, this material provides a bright snap to notes, with lots of vibrant definition and attack. Medium-sized Hard German Silver frets adorn the 12″ Rosewood fretboard, giving a vintage feel that will satisfy traditionalists without alienating modern pioneers.

Electronics & Hardware

A trio of hand-wired Hansen S-Tone pickups deliver that authentic single-coil sound, fully emitting those nostalgic 50s and 60s tones with amazing conviction. Made with Alnico 5 magnets, these pickups offer a sparkly presence that is incredible when used in conjunction with clean settings. They’re also also fantastic with overdrive too however, remaining crystal clear and articulate so that you can effortlessly cut through in a band mix.

The Hansen vintage-style tremolo has a stable feel, with its rolled Steel saddles less susceptible to wear over time. This means excellent tuning stability even with consistent tremolo use, especially when paired with the Gotoh Kluson-style tuners at the other end of the instrument.

A signature Hansen feature is the Norwegian Moose Bone nut. Buried in the earth for a year, this natural treatment leaves the bone hard and beautifully tinted, making it perfect for shaping.
