Heritage Guitars

It’s easy to admire guitars built in the ‘golden era’ and forget that behind the music, there are people who craft these instruments, tools which help make them and a building that holds everything together. In 1985, one of the most important workforces in guitar manufacturing was due to be disbanded and relocated. Leaving with it, one of the most influential guitar factories in the world, as well as a whole series of custom-made machinery and tools, which would be left to gather dust and rot. Fuelled by a desire not to leave Kalamazoo and to preserve the legacy that the world-famous factory on 225 Parsons Street had helped formulate, a group of passionate employees decided to purchase the iconic building as well as the original guitar-making equipment it housed. Fittingly named Heritage Guitars, they continue the goal of producing some of the finest handcrafted American-made guitars, made the old-fashioned way, in small quantities using only the finest materials available and built to the highest possible standards.

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About Solid Body Electric Guitars

Solid body electric guitars are built from a solid piece or pieces of wood, giving them excellent sustain, stability, and resistance to feedback at higher volumes. This construction makes them well suited to amplified playing across a wide range of styles, from clean and articulate tones to heavy, high-gain sounds. Their design allows pickups and hardware to play a major role in shaping tone, while the solid body provides a consistent, reliable feel. Solid body electric guitars are valued for their durability, versatility, and ability to perform confidently on stage and in the studio.
