About the Eastcoast GS61 Electric Guitar

The EastCoast GS61 is a beginner-friendly electric guitar based on an iconic rock instrument that’s been used by countless guitar heroes since the 1960s. It combines classic looks with powerful tones courtesy of two ‘humbucker’ pickups, with a light & comfy double-cutaway body and smooth neck that makes it super easy to play.

Key Features

  • Classic Rock Design — The distinctive body shape is synonymous with a high-octane instrument used by AC/DC’s Angus Young and many more influential players. The guitar is both comfortable and light, meaning that it’s great for home practice and gigging alike!
  • Rosewood Fingerboard — This attractive wood is typically used on only mid-priced and high-end guitars. It’s very silky under the fingers, and adds warmth to the GS61’s overall sound.
  • Humbucking Pickups — These are the magnetic parts of the guitar that take the vibrations of the strings and direct their sound into an amp. The ‘humbuckers’ in the GS61 produce a punchy yet balanced tone that’s great for classic rock, blues, and much more.
  • Volume & Tone Controls — The four dials on the right hand side of the body let you change the tone and volume of each of the two pickups, so you can experiment with their sounds. You’ll never get bored of what the GS61 has to offer!

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About Solid Body Electric Guitars

Solid body electric guitars are built from a solid piece or pieces of wood, giving them excellent sustain, stability, and resistance to feedback at higher volumes. This construction makes them well suited to amplified playing across a wide range of styles, from clean and articulate tones to heavy, high-gain sounds. Their design allows pickups and hardware to play a major role in shaping tone, while the solid body provides a consistent, reliable feel. Solid body electric guitars are valued for their durability, versatility, and ability to perform confidently on stage and in the studio.
