Don't underestimate the Little Martin. It might be smaller in actual size, but it remains big in a bunch of other departments! The reduced dimensions make it the ideal travel companion, or an entry-point for students who are just starting out on their electro-acoustic journey.

Small, but Mighty

The LX1RE is new to the series, but it more than earns its place. Built from a solid sitka spruce top, the back and sides are crafted from a rosewood pattern HPL. Spruce is known for its warm nature, with a projection that delivers your sound crisply and clearly. Many of the components that make up this guitar are actually sustainable wood parts. This proves Martin's commitment to ethically sourcing as many of their materials as possible.

Additional Features

This guitar is the first within the series that boasts a pickguard, alongside a laser-etched, herringbone rosette. It's not just visual embellishments here though. Fishman Sonitone electronics faithfully deliver the natural voice of the guitar when you do decide to plug in.

A soft gig-bag comes included with the guitar as well – ensuring you're ready to take your Little Martin wherever it's needed!

More info about this Product

Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Electro-Acoustic Guitars

Electro-acoustic guitars combine the natural sound and feel of an acoustic guitar with built-in electronics for amplification. Fitted with pickups and preamp controls, they allow you to plug directly into an amp, PA system, or recording setup while retaining an acoustic character. They’re ideal for live performance, rehearsal, and home recording, offering volume control and tonal adjustment without relying solely on microphones. Electro-acoustic guitars suit players who want the warmth and responsiveness of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility to play amplified when needed.

Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Electro-Acoustic

Electro-acoustic guitars are acoustic instruments fitted with built-in pickups or microphones that allow them to be amplified or connected directly to a PA system or amplifier. They retain the natural acoustic tone and feel of a traditional acoustic guitar while adding the convenience of onboard electronics.

They are commonly used for live performance and recording, especially in situations where consistent volume and clarity are needed. Electro-acoustic guitars often include controls for volume and tone, and sometimes built-in tuners, making them a practical choice for gigging musicians who want an acoustic sound with modern flexibility.
