American singer-songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff has teamed up with Gibson to release his new signature LG-2 Western, a guitar that is based on his own vintage LG-2 and Country Western guitars. Featuring a smaller sized Mahogany body, the LG-2 Western delivers vintage tones in a comfortable package that will appeal to strummers and fingerpickers alike. The addition of an LR Baggs® VTC pickup ensures the LG-2 Western is stage ready, right out of the box.

Construction

The LG-2 Western features the tried and trusted combination of an Adirondack Red Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides to deliver classic vintage tones. Despite its smaller size, the LG-2 has a balanced tone with a focussed mid range and the Spruce top gives is a pleasant top end brightness. The "Historic V" shape Mahogany neck feels instantly vintage and the Indian Rosewood fingerboard is adorned with Gibson's classic split-parallelogram inlays. The headstock is crowned with a mother of pearl Gibson block logo and Crown inlay, which is a nod to Gibson 's Country Western guitar.

Featuring traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing and finished in a gloss Nitrocellulose, the Nathaniel Rateliff LG-2 Western delivers a level of vintage authenticity that will leave you thinking you're playing an actual vintage instrument!

Electronics

The Nathaniel Rateliff LG-2 Western is loaded with an LR Baggs® VTC pickup for convenient "plug-and-play" amplification. The volume and tone controls allow for easy tone tweaking and are discretely hidden away inside the sound hole, as per Nathaniel's preference, so as to not to detract from the LG-2's vintage aesthetics.  The LR Baggs® VTC also allows you to bring the LG-2 Western into your recording environment for easy and authentic sounding recordings.

Hardware

The LG-2 Western includes several features inspired by some of Nathaniel's personal guitars including Gotoh Keystone tuners and black bridge pins. With a rectangular, closed slot bridge and tortoiseshell teardrop pickguard, the LG-2 evokes plenty of vintage nostalgia but with modern appointments for today's players. The Nathaniel Rateliff LG-2 Western comes in a hardshell case so you can be sure it'll be safe and sound wherever the music takes you!
