The 200 Series is an ideal entry point for musicians who crave a reliable, rich-voiced, stage-ready guitar. Our versatile 214ce-K DLX koa/spruce cutaway Grand Auditorium makes a fantastic musical companion for practice, songwriting, recording and performance.

Key Features

  • Taylor C-Bracing – The bracing system on this guitar increases volume, sustain and responsiveness.
  • Torrefied Body Top – The spruce top has been “Torrefied”, adding an extra layer of richness to your tone.
  • Taylor ES-2 System – The Expression System 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.

Featuring a suite of aesthetic upgrades, the new 214ce-K DLX elevates the appeal of our already-inspiring standard model. Layered Hawaiian koa back and sides are paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top and given an all-gloss finish. Our special roasting process for the top adds played-in warmth and depth. Our cantilevered variant of V-Class bracing dials up more volume, sustain and low-end power while preserving all-around clarity.

Upgraded visual appointments include Sentinel fretboard inlays and a single-ring rosette made from Italian acrylic, cream body binding with a matching cream heel cap, and gold Taylor tuning machines. Like the standard 214ce-K, the Deluxe build features a faux tortoiseshell pickguard, a matte-finished mahogany neck, and soundboard purfling. The 214ce-K DLX comes with an onboard ES2 pickup and a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.

Torrefied Spruce Top

In typical Taylor style, they are yet again pushing boundaries of acoustic guitar design and have developed a signature recipe for a process called “torrefaction” to make spruce sound even richer and more sophisticated, adding a new dimension to this much-loved wood.

Taylor Expression System 2

The Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor’s ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before.

Together with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier, or direct into recording software, the Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar.

Stuff About Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About Steel String Acoustic Guitars

Steel string acoustic guitars are known for their bright, clear tone and strong projection, making them a popular choice for strumming, fingerpicking, and songwriting. Using steel strings gives them more tension and volume than classical guitars, resulting in a sound that cuts through well whether played solo or alongside other instruments. They come in a range of body shapes and sizes, each influencing balance, resonance, and comfort. From delicate fingerstyle passages to powerful rhythm playing, steel string acoustics are versatile instruments that respond well to dynamics and playing style, both at home and on stage.
