The PRS Silver Sky is a love letter to the golden era of tone, reimagined for today’s player. Designed in collaboration with Grammy-winning artist John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith, this instrument blends the soul of a ’60s classic with the precision and playability you’d expect from a contemporary PRS.

2026 Silver Sky Wild Blue Limited Edition

Wild Blue has been part of the Silver Sky story since the early days of the PRS x John Mayer relationship. It was one of the first colours they experimented with, but it’s been sitting in the vault waiting for the right moment. Well — its time has finally come!

The 2026 RRS Silver Sky Wild Blue Limited Edition is the first-ever Silver Sky to rock a fully matching painted headstock, giving it a cool, unified look that absolutely pops on stage. PRS are building up to 1,000 of these beauties for 2026. That puts Wild Blue in very exclusive company — joining just two previous limited Silver Sky finishes: the ultra‑collectable Nebula and Lunar Ice.

John Mayer on the Silver Sky in Wild Blue

“As a watch collector, turquoise blue is a colour that has always evoked excitement, so a limited edition Silver Sky in turquoise is the perfect crossover. I hope it brings a smile to both guitar players and watch enthusiasts alike.” — John Mayer

Vintage charm, modern precision

Every detail’s been carefully considered. From the inverted PRS headstock that keeps string tension consistent (and tuning rock solid) to the vintage-style tuners upgraded with PRS’s locking system, this guitar is all about combining old-school vibe with modern reliability and convenience. The steel tremolo features PRS’s Gen III knife-edge screws and sits flush to the body, so it only drops pitch — giving you extra resonance while keeping things stable.

Packed with player-friendly features

This PRS John Mayer signature guitar comes loaded with three 635JM single-coil pickups. They sound warm, round and full of character, with a sweet top end that never gets harsh. Add in a 7.25” fingerboard radius and a traditional bone nut for rich sustain, and you’ve got a guitar that feels like home from the very first strum.

Other thoughtful touches include a curved metal jack plate for hassle-free cable changes, retooled knobs and a premium PRS gig bag to keep your Silver Sky safe on the road.

More info about this Product

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Solid Body Electric Guitars

Solid body electric guitars are built from a solid piece or pieces of wood, giving them excellent sustain, stability, and resistance to feedback at higher volumes. This construction makes them well suited to amplified playing across a wide range of styles, from clean and articulate tones to heavy, high-gain sounds. Their design allows pickups and hardware to play a major role in shaping tone, while the solid body provides a consistent, reliable feel. Solid body electric guitars are valued for their durability, versatility, and ability to perform confidently on stage and in the studio.
